November Form Pointers
A winner of the Golden Gates Stakes at Royal Ascot, Burdett Road has since switched from Michael Bell's yard to that of James Owen's stable and the juvenile made a very smooth transition to the hurdling sphere when storming to victory in the Grade 2 Prestbury Juvenile Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham's November Meeting. Kept out the back by Harry Cobden, Burdett Road was sticky over his hurdles, as he was on hurdling debut at Huntingdon, but the smooth traveller then quickened imperiously away from some decent youngsters and he was immediately placed at the head of the betting for Triumph Hurdle. He will need to sharpen up his jumping, but this classy Flat recruit is certainly one to watch and he has to be one of the leading British-trained runners.
