Coral Eclipse Entries: Vadeni supplemented to set up Native Trail clash at Sandown

Sandown hosts the Group 1 Coral Eclipse on Saturday and there was much interest on Monday when French Raider Vadeni was supplemented for the race.
The Aga Khan owned Prix du Jockey Club winner was hugely impressive at Chantilly last time out and has been supplemented for Saturday's race to the tune of £50,000, where he could face Irish 2000 Guineas winner Native Trail.
There's a total of 11 entries for the race at Monday's five day declaration stage, the aforementioned Vadeni and Native Trail, plus course and distance winners Bay Bridge and Alenquer. There are older horses in the shape of Mishriff, Real World and Lord North whilst Aidan O'Brien has three runners entered at big prices in the shape of Stone Age, Aikhal and the outsider High Definition. The 11 are completed by the William Haggas trained Dubai Honour.
The J-C Rouget trained Vadeni heads the betting at 5/2. Winner of a Group 3 early in the season, he ran out a five length winner in Group 1 company last time out with the likes of the Charlie Appleby trained Modern Games in behind.
Appleby saddles Native Trail here at 7/2, winner of the Craven Stakes before finishing second in the English 2000 Guineas in May before winning the Irish version at the Curragh last time out.
Sir Michael Stoute who is enjoying a good season saddles 6/1 chance Bay Bridge, a winner at Sandown earlier in the season over a mile and a quarter but beaten into second at Royal Ascot in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes last time out.
Alenquer's credentials include a Group 1 win in Ireland last time out and is available to back at 8/1.
Meanwhile, 10/1 chance Mishriff is an experienced campaigner who has won half his races including the Juddmonte International last summer. The five year old was beaten into third in this race 12 months ago and finished dead last in the Saudi Cup in his only appearance in 2022.
Like Mishriff, Lord North (10/1) is also an entry for John and Thady Gosden and has Group 1 winning form, albeit a while ago.
Real World is Godolphin's second entry in the race, this time trained by Saeed Bin Suroor, the 10/1 chance finished second in behind the impressive Baeed last time out in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot a few weeks ago.
The best of Aidan O'Brien's trio could come in the shape of 16/1 chance Stone Age who was really impressive when winning the Derby Trial Stakes at Leopardstown in May before finishing sixth in the Derby earlier this month.
O'Brien also saddles 25/1 chance Aikhal who was dead last at Ascot in the St James's Palace Stakes but reappeared at the Curragh at the weekend winning a Group 3 in impressive style, he retains his entry for the Eclipse at Sandown races, at this point at least.
Dubai Honour is the second entry of William Haggas, at 28/1 one of the outsiders in the field. A winner on Arc day at Longchamp last year and runner up in the Champion Stakes at Ascot, the four year old is yet to run this summer.
Finally, the outsider of the field High Definition (50/1) trained by Aidan O'Brien. Beaten on all four starts this season, most recently at Epsom where third of six in the Coronation Cup over a mile and half.
The final decs will be announced on Thursday morning for Saturday's big race.
