Horse Racing Tips: Boughey Runner At Southwell Well Supported

The sole Irish meeting scheduled for today was at Clonmel, but that has been abandoned so we are left with just three British meetings. Fontwell, Wetherby and Southwell are the tracks where racing will be taking place and here we delve into the Naps, stats and some racing news...

Follow The Leaders
There is a new leader on the board in the Naps table today, with West Country just about ahead of On The Nose by 7p in the P&L standings. For his best bet of the day this Thursday he has sided with WILFUL in the 13:57 at Fontwell. This is the first race of the day so those supporting the leader will know their fate early, and although the horse is long odds-on for Jonjo and Jonjo JR, he does look by far the most likely winner of this maiden hurdle.
Usurped in first place by the aforementioned slender margin was On The Nose from the Racing Post, and they will attempt to leapfrog back into first place by backing CATCH CUNNINGHAM to claim victory in the 16:25 at Southwell. This race is over one of the shortest distances offered in Britain, just shy of five furlongs, and despite Catch Cunningham being winless since 2022 this test should suit him after a promising run on yard debut.
Spotlight have passed Brian Flanagan into third and wait for the second last race at Wetherby for their best bet of the day, with KINDER KID fancied to scoop the 17:05. The Milan gelding is two pounds well in here and after winning on his first attempt over this sort of trip over C&D nine days ago, he looks the one to beat in this race despite the ground being better today than it was just over a week ago.
- West Country - Wilful - 13:57 Fontwell - P&L: £15.18
- On The Nose - Catch Cunningham - 16:25 Southwell - P&L: £15.11
- Spotlight - Kinder Kid - 17:05 Wetherby - P&L: £7.77
Thursday's Most Popular Naps
One horse has been selected by four experts today as the best bet on the day, with YAAJOOZ well fancied for George Boughey and Billy Loughnane at Southwell in the 19:30. He has been one of the day's strongest market movers so far and it is clear to see why, with plenty of experts backing him and him being four pounds well in here.
He ran with immense credit to finish second just five days ago on yard debut, when arguably not having the race run to suit, and Boughey sending him out again quickly must mean the team think he remains in rude health. They will be confident he can go one place better.
A host of horses have attracted three Naps votes today across the cards, with AL KALILA by far the biggest price of the quartet in the 15:35 at Wetherby. RETRACTION is another one worth a second look in the 19:00 at Southwell who has been well supported and is still an each-way price.
How About Stat?
Joe Williamson today tops the jockey form chart, with four wins from his last ten rides over the last fortnight. He is on board two outsiders at Wetherby this afternoon in the hope of bagging another winner and keeping the hot streak going...

Racing News Round-Up
- Any Second Now Supported To Go Out With A Bang - Fan favourite veteran Any Second Now has seen plenty of money antepost for the Irish Grand National on Monday. He has placed twice in the Aintree version, and could give retiring trainer Ted Walsh a perfect send off.
- Harry Cobden Pulling Clear in Jockey's Title Race - It has been a fantastic battle between Cobden and Bowen so far in the Jump Jockeys' Championship race, but Harry Cobden now looks heavily fancied to claim the gong after a double yesterday took him to a fifteen race lead over his nearest rival.
