ITV Racing Tips: Another Batch of Racing League Tips
It's week three of the Racing League on Thursday evening and the competitive racing doesn't stop as the action heads north to Newcastle in front of the ITV Racing cameras. If you need a refresher on the rules of the competition, read our Guide To The Racing League here. Our man Billy Grimshaw found a fantastic 18/1 winner last week at Lingfield so will look to keep the profitable previews rolling with a quartet of tips for the team based tournament on the Toon...

It's the North's turn to host the Racing League fixture this week and up at Newcastle, the home team can get off to a flier in the one-mile four opener for Richard Fahey and Harrison Shaw. Currently the second favourite for this race, SOLAR JOE looks to have more of a favourite's chance to my eye and I was surprised to see him at odds of 5/1 and above. His last performance was a close second at Haydock when he looked absolutely full of running and just about couldn't collar the leader to claim the prize. Tonight's slight step up in trip looks sure to suit and I would be keen on his chances. The favourite Wynter Wildes for the East team and Charlie Fellowes will be weighted for success and after failing to see out the one-mile six trip last time will be more comfortable back on the all weather and over this distance. Another down the field I was somewhat interested in the chances of was Spring Glow for Team Ireland and Andrew Balding. He has been well out of sorts in recent times but all his best runs have come on this surface so a return to his favoured under hoof conditions could bring him back to form. On his best efforts he would be one not to rule out. Emaraty Hero will be one of the market leaders and is a consistent type who is interesting in blinkers applied for the first time, while Trinity Girl and Seven Pockets look like they could give a good account of themselves.

Unlike a lot of races in this season's Racing League, this one seems to be a contest in which you can rule out a fair few toward the bottom of the market (incoming outsider of the field romping home!) The one that appeals most is MENAI BRIDGE for Charles Hills who ran impressively at Lingfield a fortnight ago in second place over ten furlongs, a trip not his ideal. Off the same mark, he heads here with a great chance of going one better at Newcastle and he can help the London and the South team stretch further clear in the standings. Baltimore Boy is only a three-year-old but in his three runs has looked a horse of some promise. He has won at this track and now making his handicap debut the mark doesn't look particularly lenient, but he could be much better than this yet.
Galiac is another three-year-old in the field but one with much more experience than the favourite Baltimore Boy for the Muirs. The Kodiac colt is a course and distance winner and has won two from six this season. His last run didn't see him win but was arguably better than some of his wins with a good Doncaster second, so he is one to be respected as well. The old boy Raising Sands has done plenty of punters favours with some wis and places at big prices in massive races, but hasn't won since 2019 and his best days look behind him, This is one of the weakest contests he's run in over the years but he needs to show signs of his old self.

Rossa Ryan has been in the news as of late with the Amo Racing controversy in terms of is he their retained rider anymore or not and is he being 'internally investigated', but he should have the chance for some welcome distraction in this race aboard SANKS A MILLION. A lightly raced entrant for Team Ireland, the Profitable colt hasn't been out of the first two in any of his four starts to date and looks to be quite forward for one his age. If, as his pedigree suggests he might, he takes to the surface and produces a run as good as his Chester win in June he can secure a second career success or at the very least hit the frame for a fifth consecutive race.
The North need a big week at home and have the two market leaders in this one, with Richard Fahey's Minnesota Lad followed by Michael Dods' Prairie Falcon. Of the two I would favour Fahey's entrant, as the son of Sioux Nation looked very good when winning a Beverley maiden last time out over five and did not show any signs that six will cause any issues. Dods' representative is by no means out of the equation and his win at Goodwood last time out was a solid performance, but the two dominate the market to too much of an extent to my eye and there is value in behind, particularly in the selection but also with Miss Mai Tai who was a nice winner at Ripon earlier in the summer and looks another one that is overpriced to me on nursery debut.

Last week I went with Aberama Gold and he disappointed at Lingfield, so I am fully prepared for him to bolt up in this race now I am deserting him. In all seriousness though, he didn't run badly last week and isn't without his chance here, but there is another runner who looks a standout bet to me at a double figured price. The horse I will be with is VINCE LOMBARDI, who can be backed with most firms with extra places which sweetens the deal. In races like this recent form is always something I give a lot of credence to and I loved his run at Carlisle last Friday when winning a race at just under this distance. This run marks him out as a decent quality sprinter and despite the penalty he will be forced to carry here I think he is almost double the price I'd like to be laying. As a three year old he'll receive plenty of weight which further enhances his claims.
True Mason is another Northern runner set to carry favouritism for the hometown team and his busy record this campaign has yielded three wins so far. He is another coming here in cracking form after a win at Wolverhampton last time out and would be the main danger. Mojomaker looks interesting with Rossa Ryan booked to ride, while Natural Path has been running well recently without winning and wouldn't be one to discount finally getting his head in front.
