Racing League Tips: Three More Selections for ITV Racing To Keep Winners Rolling
It's everyone's favourite time of the week once more, that's right... It's Racing League time! The teams and ITV Racing cameras head to Windsor this Thursday for another batch of competitive races with big pots of prize money on offer. Billy Grimshaw has been in fine tipping form for us so far this campaign and will be looking to find yet more winners with his trio of tips for Thursday night's action...
17:00 Windsor - Racing League Race One
Do not worry loyal reader, you have not been sent back in time seven days to this article from last week. No, I am simply making the case once again that CHINESE KNOT and Saffie Osborne are good value to win once more at a Racing League event. After we missed her first win of the campaign at Yarmouth, I made sure Chinese Knot was carrying our cash to victory last time out at Chepstow and although the filly is penalised once again here at Windsor, she is such an honest competitor and a talented one to boot, that I think she will rack up the Racing League hat-trick.
The presence of Zoulu Chief in the line-up, a surprise 150/1 winner earlier this year, means the pace is undoubtedly going to be a strong one and this will suit our pick down to the ground. Osborne has proven herself to be head and shoulders above the rest at the Racing League for Wales and The West and she is a masterful judge of pace, meaning she is the perfect jockey for a stalker like Chinese Knot. There are a few in here that will mean she doesn't have as easy a time as she did last week, particularly the progressive Pink Satin, but I think Chinese Knot is by far the most likely winner again and the price will only contract so take it as soon as possible.
17:30 Windsor - Racing League Race Two
The fact that the number crunchers at Paddy Power have made this race 7/1 the field says all we need to know about the competitive nature of the contest, but I do think they have disregarded one slightly by not making him one of the co-favourites and that is EXPERT AGENT. Recent form figures of 7th and 4th hardly scream out that he is in flying form but look a little closer and this is a horse that has done hardly anything wrong all season. Prior to connections bravely stepping him up in class, first brushed aside by the winning machine Quinault after a bumpy start and then beaten fair and square last time out at Windsor, he ran up an AW hat-trick and looked destined for bigger things.
I am convinced he is still better than this Class 4 handicap company and will in time progress again, but now dropping back into calmer waters after his failed attempts to win bigger prizes he should be much happier and can make his presence felt. His high draw is a positive as is his versatile run style in a race that doesn't look to have a definitive front runner. Being up amongst the pacesetters could be advantageous if things become tactical and hopefully Jack Mitchell keeps his mount handy, but if he misses the start as he has done on occasion he should be able to recover well enough. Obviously a host in here have a chance and I can see Call Me Ginger being well supported before the off, but at anything above 7/1 Expert Angel looks a cracking each-way play.
19:00 Windsor - Racing League Race Five
Wrapping up our tips, although I will admit for transparency that I will be backing Saffie Osborne's rides in a Canadian to keep things interesting throughout the Windsor card, we have a horse I have been pleasantly surprised by this season after he looked a real handful as a juvenile. William Knight has obviously done a superb job with CHARTWELL HOUSE from two to three as all the greenness and reluctance to race that he displayed as a juvenile is a thing of the past and in 2023 the Churchill gelding has been a model of consistency. Facing the cruellest cut may also have played a part I suppose. On his penultimate start he danced in at Haydock in a Class 4 and this gave connections enough encouragement to send him into a Class 2 next time at the same track.
He was far from disgraced in June that day and it could be argued he hit the front a tad too soon, eventually going down by a length to Ramazan. That one has franked the form since with another win at Chepstow and I'm hopeful that taking a step back down to Class 3 company Chartwell House will still be in bouncing form after his break and can dominate this field to score another victory. Maywake for Richard Fahey looks the main danger to my eye but although he was very good in winning at Thirsk last time out in the mud, the handicapper certainly hasn't missed him and an 8lbs rise in the weights seems on the harsher side.
