Royal Ascot Saturday Tips: Check out our five best bets for day five

The last day of Royal Ascot is upon us but there is still a fantastic set of races to look forward to in Berkshire. Billy Grimshaw has gone through the card for us and provided his best bets...
14:30 Royal Ascot - Chesham Stakes
This race has certainly become one of the hottest of the week recently after years in the doldrums, and this year we could see the two year old performance of the week from the favourite. ALFRED MUNNINGS looked well out of the ordinary on his sole start on a racecourse so far when dismantling a Leopardstown maiden by four and a half lengths back in May. This Duwabi colt out of a Galileo mare could not be bred any better for the job and I expect him to stamp his authority on the juvenile division with a commanding win in this race.

15:05 Royal Ascot - Jersey Stakes
We saw on Day One that the German guineas form should be respected when Maljoom was absolutely flying home late in the St James's Palace Stakes and arguably comes out of the race as the one in most people's notebook for if the rematch occurs at Goodwood or further down the track. In that very same race he won the German 2000 Guineas, ROCCHIGIANI was a only a length and a quarter behind and I feel he is being disrespected somewhat in the market here. Peter Schiergen may not be known to many on these shores but he can certainly train a horse and it is not hard to imagine this son of Time Test hitting the front early and seeing out the race for connections.
Rocchigiani
15:40 Royal Ascot - Hardwicke Stakes
Hurricane Lane clearly warrants huge respect in this field, and his current price reflects that. He is a shade of odds on in most places and it is easy to see why off the back of his stunning St Leger performance followed up by a good third in the Arc. However, on his seasonal reappearance I am taking him on in the hope Charlie Appleby's runner is using this as a stepping stone to bigger targets and the horse I want on side is BROOME for Aidan O'Brien. He has performed admirably on ground firmer than this at the Breeder's Cup and I liked a lot about his last time out run in the Tattersall's Gold Cup, a messy race but one in which Broome looked to show plenty of zest still for the game. Back him each-way if that is your way of punting as I cannot see him out of the frame at the very least here..
Broome
16:20 Royal Ascot - Platinum Jubilee Stakes
CAMPANELLE is a now two-time Royal Ascot winner and I fancy she can make it a hat trick in this race. Her Queen Mary win was a brilliant performance over five furlongs as a two year old, but her win last season in the Commonwealth Cup was definitely her best performance to date on British soil. She actually finished second that day but was awarded the race after interference from Dragon Symbol. Her running style suits this course and with another year's experience and Wesley Ward's prowess with these rapid runners, Campanelle looks one of his best chances of the week. Jockey Irad Ortiz will be desperate to atone for his shocking ride aboard Golden Pal in the King's Stand, in which he missed the kick when expecting to front run and then threw away any chance by forcing his colt to use his stamina to get to the front. Australian favourite Home Affairs will be popular after Nature Strip's superb win in the King's Stand but I am backing some stateside revenge here.

17:35 Royal Ascot - Golden Gates Stakes
It could prove the height of folly to try and guess the winner of a race such as this, with sixteen lightly raced types with who knows how much improvement in hand set to take their chance. However, I cannot resist a play on the favourite in this race after the impression he made when winning his last two races. Trainer George Boughey is already on the board at Royal Ascot this week and looks to have one out of the ordinary here with MISSED THE CUT. On debut he was no match for New London but since then his two wins at Pontefract and Salisbury could not have come in any easier fashion and something about the style in which when jockey Ben Curtis asked him for a tiny bit more he put his races to bed screams out to me we could be looking at something pretty special. No prizes for originality but I think this favourite will be tough to beat.
