Today's Horse Racing Tips: Three selections at Taunton on Tuesday
There's a seven race National Hunt card taking place at Taunton on Tuesday afternoon, and our in-house tipster Steve Chambers has picked out three bets on the West Country card...
Harry Fry's MUY BIEN shaped with real promise when finishing third in a maiden hurdle at Taunton last month, and now stepping into handicap company this afternoon, the potentially progressive six-year-old can record his first victory in a competitive Taunton event at 13:50. Not only will he take in his first handicap, but he steps up in trip, which should bring on some notable improvement. He will have to get the better of the likes of course specialist Kendelu and the bottom weight Karakoram, but Muy Bien looks extremely interesting off a mark of 95.
A former Grade 1-winning novice chaser, SLATE HOUSE has lost his way somewhat over the last few seasons, but having shown signs of recapturing his winning ways last time out at Wincanton, the Colin Tizzard-trained ten-year-old can go one better this afternoon and land the 15:00 prize. Second at Wincanton off a mark of 134 last time out, Slate House will take his chance off 132 today, so providing he can kick on from that run in early January then he should have too much class for his rivals, and he can duly carry top weight to victory.
Gary Moore's NATURAL HISTORY has been slipping down the handicap following a run of disappointing performances, but the seven-year-old can recapture the winning thread today by claiming glory in the 15:35 race at Taunton. A winner at Plumpton off a mark of 116 last March, Moore's charge has dropped to an eye-catching figure of 114 for today's event, and with the hood added he could well bounce back to form and outclass his rivals in another intriguing betting heat.
