Today's Horse Racing Tips: Back this trio at Huntingdon on Tuesday
There's a seven race card taking place at Huntingdon on Tuesday afternoon, and our in-house tipster Steve Chambers has picked out his three best bets on the National Hunt card...
Huntingdon Tips
13:30 Huntingdon
A trappy, intriguing handicap hurdle takes place at 13:30, and it can go the way of Pam Sly's TAKEIT EASY, who has been in sensational form of late, and the six-year-old can continue his winning ways by landing this prize with aplomb. Three wins from his last four starts, Take It Easy has rocketed up the handicap, but he still looks capable of more, and a mark of 134 looks workable. A winner last time at Wetherby, Sly's charge has only been upped 2lbs for that victory, and the form has worked out well since, so providing he turns up in the same form here then he can make it four wins from five outings.
14:00 Huntingdon
A disappointing field of four horses go to post for the Veterans' Handicap Chase at 14:00, but the one that stands out is the top-weighted KILFILUM CROSS, who is extremely well handicapped if he can unearth some form over the larger obstacles. A winner off a mark of 132 earlier in his career, the Henry Oliver-trained 10-year-old has been dropped 5lbs since pulling up at Aintree on his last start, so he's been given a real chance by the handicapper. Oliver has reached for the visor this afternoon, while wind surgery could also aid his chances, so he has to be respected. The pair of Militarian and No Comment are currently battling it out for favouritism, but it's Kilfilum Cross that looks the most likely winner in a fascinating event.
14:30 Huntingdon
Milton Harris saddled Mr Yeats to victory at Wincanton last time out, and the four-year-old will look to follow up this afternoon in the 14:30 at Huntingdon on Tuesday afternoon. However, he's awfully short, and it could be worth siding with the Philip Hobbs-trained Alberic, who has been showing a level of form that should see him go very close here. In what is a mediocre contest, ALBERIC has been one that has shown positive signs and two third places and a fourth placed finish in his last three runs has shown he has some ability. Dropped 2lbs by the handicapper to a mark of 85, Alberic should benefit from that easing, and he can be the value alternative to the favourite.
