Horse Racing Tips: Mist looks a Sweet bet on Wednesday at Wolves
It's a decent day's racing across the UK & Ireland with five fixtures taking place and the afternoon action comes from Nottingham, Wincanton, Leopardstown and Wolverhampton, while there's a solitary evening meeting at Kempton on the all-weather. We preview all Wednesday's racing here and pick out some of the most popular naps of the day from our racing naps table...
The Punt from the Racing Post bagged a winning nap on Tuesday to rocket to the top of the naps table, with a profit of £18.21, and the form tipster will attempt to make it two wins on the spin on Wednesday and heads to Wolverhampton for Wednesday's nap of the day. Heading to the 14:25 contest, The Punt has napped the 9/4 chance Sweet Mist, who is incidentally one of the most popular naps of the entire day with two other tipsters putting Sean Curran's charge up as the best bet of the day. Available around the 9/4 mark, at the time of writing, Sweet Mist was last seen finishing second at Wolverhampton off 64 and he runs off the same figure this afternoon, so has to be a major player.
Only one other horse has been napped by three tipsters and you have to wait until this evening for that selection as it comes in the 19:15 at Kempton. Archie Watson's He's A Monster is the horse in question and has been napped by the likes of second placed tipster Sunday Express, and Watson's raider, who is a red-hot Evens favourite, has won two of his three starts and the No Nay Never colt appears to be still on the upgrade, so has to be respected.
Paul Nicholls will certainly have one eye on the Grand National weekend next weekend, but the Ditcheat handler will team up with his daughter Olive at Wincanton this afternoon and the pair will unleash Oscars Moonshine in the 14:15 contest. Available at 13/2 at the moment, the eight-year-old has been dropped 3lbs by the handicapper and that has caught the eye of West Country from Racing Post, who has put it up as the best bet on the card.
There's a quality Flat card at Leopardstown and the feature race on the card is the Listed Heritage Stakes at 15:40, where we see the return of star filly Homeless Songs, who was a sparkling winner of the Irish 1000 Guineas last season. Dermot Weld's classy four-year-old is a relatively warm market leader at 11/8 and while will have likely bigger fish to fry later in the Flat season she is looking to kick off on a winning note. Rory Paddock of the Jersey Evening Post has napped Weld's charge, who was last seen finishing down the field in the Group 1 Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket and is looking to bounce back from that effort here.
Andrew Mount of the Racing & Football Outlook has been in tremendous tipping form of late notching up back-to-back wins and he will head to Nottingham this afternoon to try and record a third winning nap on the bounce. Mount has napped the 16/1 shot Umming N' Ahing, who runs in the 13:30 race and is looking to improve on a fourth placed finish at Wolverhampton last time out.
Ben Morgan from Racing Ahead is another tipster bidding for a third winning nap in a row and he also heads to Nottingham and has napped Coquelicot in the 15:50 race, while Melissa Jones from the Daily Express, who is the other hat-trick seeker heads to Wincanton and has napped the 7/2 chance Puffin Bay in the 16:35.
