Irish 1000 Guineas Entries: 15 horses entered for Curragh Group 1 on Sunday

There will be a maximum of 15 fillies lining up for the 2022 Irish 1000 Guineas, which takes place at the Curragh on Sunday, and the betting suggests it's going to be a wide open renewal of the Group 1 Classic at the Irish racecourse...
Aidan O'Brien has trained ten winners of the Irish 1000 Guineas, and the master of Ballydoyle could potentially unleash a really strong team at the Curragh showpiece on Sunday with the team spearheaded by Tuesday, who was last seen finishing a decent third place in the QIPCO 1000 Guineas at Newmarket. An impressive maiden winner at Naas in March, the daughter of Galileo then improved significantly when finishing a fine third at Newmarket, and she will look to kick on again and claim her first Group success in what is a competitive renewal of the Irish 1000 Guineas.
A winner of the Listed Salsabil Stakes over 1m 2f last time out, Concert Hall could well drop back in trip for this event, but she is arguably one of O'Brien's premier challengers for the Oaks in a few weeks, so while she is entered for this event she may be kept until the Epsom Classic on June 3.
History got the better of Agartha when the pair met in a Group 3 event at Leopardstown in early May and they could well do battle here again. History will adds more strength in depth to the Aidan O'Brien team, while Agartha could represent his son Joseph, who is bidding for his first win in the Curragh Classic. Lullaby will complete the four-strong entry list for Aidan O'Brien and that filly could well adopt pacemaking tactics, as she seems the less likely to challenge for glory, and is as big as 50/1 in the latest betting.
Dermot Weld last trained the winner of the event back in 2010 when Bethrah claimed glory, but the master of Rosewell House will stand a huge chance of recapturing the coveted crown on Sunday as he will saddle the current favourite Homeless Songs, who is a 3/1 jolly, at the time of writing. An impressive length victory over Agartha in the Irish 1000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown earlier in the season saw her put up a huge career best display to land glory, and she will look to use that success as a stepping stone to Group 1 success.
Fourth in the Fillies' Mile at the end of last season, James Ferguson's Mise En Scene was unable to line up in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket a few weeks ago, but will now make her hotly-anticipated return to the track in this event and she has to be considered a lively player, while the Charlie Appleby-trained Wild Beauty will add some depth to the British challenge, as he bids for more Classic glory this season.
Of the others, Purplepay could be another British raider making the trip across the Irish Sea and she is set to have her first run for William Haggas, while the likes of the Ger Lyons-trained Panama Red and the unbeaten once-raced Hermana Estrella add more depth to the list of possible runners.
