ITV Racing Tips: RaceOlly's Selections for Friday at Glorious Goodwood

It's day four of Glorious Goodwood on Friday and our tipster RaceOlly is back with his best bets for all the action that lights up the Sussex track...
13:50 Goodwood - Coral Goodwood Handicap
This is a tricky race where cases can be made for a few but I’ve opted for the solid HYDROPLANE who’s proven to stay and coming off the back of an easy win at Chester last time out. The magic cheekpieces are on tomorrow which he has a record of 1221 when sporting and Silestre De Sousa keeps the ride after winning last time. Three wins from eight starts on turf on the flat and has improved with each start and trainer Ian Williams has won this race three times recently, De Sousa twice in the last eight years including the one Ian Williams winner.

15:00 Goodwood - Coral Golden Mile Handicap
Mark Johnston has won this race four times in the last 12 years and has just the one runner this time round in AUSTRIAN THEORY. Drawn a little wider than ideal but looks likely Franny Norton will go towards the front on him and should find it a little easier to slot in. 2lbs well in from the win at Hamilton and race didn’t pan out to suit last time out. This race very likely a target for some time.

15:35 Goodwood - King George Qatar Stakes
While Acklam Express was my first port of call here after that excellent 3rd last time in a Group one at Royal Ascot there’s one at a much bigger price that appeals more. PONNTOS was given no chance last time in the same race as Acklam Express when going off like a scolded cat, that run could be forgiven and the run before when partnered by todays returning jockey Frankie Dettori was excellent. Form of that win has been boosted several times since and he’s the same price here as a rival he beat by over four lengths in that race. Frankie back on board and a likely more restrained ride make him very appealing.

16:45 Goodwood - Coral Beaten-By-A-Length Free Bet Nursery
I bounced around between two in this for some time before settling on EXPLICIT. Mark Johnston won this three years ago and had the 2nd last year and comes here this time around with one with plenty of experience under his belt already. Won two sellers back-to-back but performed consistently well aside of those and last run when 2nd off this mark at Musselburgh took a little boost with Star Of Lady M running well to place here earlier in the week. Johnston is having a terrific year with his two-year-olds boasting a 21% win rate after 28 winners from 132 runners.

17:20 Goodwood - Oliver Brown Handicap
Sheer Rocks was set to be my selection for this on first viewing, but the more I looked in to it the more I found myself drawn to RING OF BEARA at a massive price. Started his career off here at Goodwood when 2nd to now 110 rated Imperial Fighter with a decent field in behind. Easily won next start before being put in to a Group race he was far from disgraced beaten seven lengths behind 114 rated, Group 1 winner Modern Games. Not so good in two starts at three years old. but gelding operation since last seen could help and step up in trip also very interesting on breeding (sire produced 10 wins from 48 runners over this trip). Richard Hughes had a good winner here yesterday.
