held up in rear, went modest third after 3 out, kept on from 2 out, never near to challenge (enq was held into the riding of the gelding, which was settled towards the rear of the field before being asked for his effort at the top of the hill when turning into the home straight to finish third, beaten by 12 3/4 lengths. Jockey stated his instructions were to drop in and sit in rear, as he is a hold up horse. Jockey explained that having sat towards the rear for the first circuit, he attempted to make a move on the inside, but was blocked by a rival and had to switch out from behind a wall of horses. Jockey further explained that he wanted to get to the top of the hill on the bridle as his mount wouldn't have finished his race if he had asked any earlier, as he felt that the eventual winner was setting a very strong pace. Jockey added that given the way the race was run, he felt that his mount was staying on at the one pace under pressure and in his opinion, he had obtained the best possible placing)
