About the Sandringham Stakes
The Sandringham Stakes is a one mile handicap for three-year-old fillies and is one of the toughest betting heats of the five-day Royal Ascot jamboree.
It may lack the quality of some of the Group races taking place at the meeting, but the Sandringham is still a hotly-contested contest and is attractive race for punters looking for big prices. With bumper fields going to post every year then it's race with a lot of each-way intrigue, and it can be a race that produces a decent winner that goes on to bigger and better things later in their career.
John & Thady Gosden's Coppice was a superb winner of the Sandringham Stakes as she fended off Breege.
Sandringham Stakes Key Trends
- 9 of the last 12 winners had at least 1 win that season
- 5 of the last 12 winners were favourites,
- 9 of the last 12 winners were rated 91 or higher
Sandringham Stakes Tips
Second favourite KITTY ROSE is our selection in the Sandringham, with her form being franked as well as can be by the horse that beat her last time out going so close in the Irish 1000 Guineas last time out. There are loads in here with claims, as is expected at Royal Ascot, but she sticks out like a sore thumb and is worth supporting.
