What is the Wokingham Stakes?
The Wokingham Stakes is a handicap race run over six furlongs and is one of the feature races on the final day of Royal Ascot.
First run in 1813, the Wokingham has become one of the highlights of the entire meeting and it's been a race that has attracted some of the premier sprint handicappers in training. Being a handicap contest it is a race that attracts some experienced campaigners as well as some improving sprinters, who can often use this race as a stepping stone to competing in Group races later in their career.
