Mercifully, the rain has arrived before Cheltenham Gold Cup Day at the 2026 Cheltenham Festival and it should be nigh on perfect ground for the big race at four o'clock. Clerks have been reluctant to water heavily during the week, with the major casualty of this Fact To File who was withdrawn by an irate Willie Mullins from yesterday's Ryanair Chase.
In the feature race of the afternoon, the Cheltenham Gold Cup, the market has been shifting as punters try to second-guess how the ground will play. Haiti Coleurs has been smashed in for Rebecca Curtis and the front runner is thought to be a horse who will relish the good conditions underfoot, while Inothewayurthinkin has drifted out somewhat after being backed heavily earlier in the week. The best backed horse of the day runs in the first race, the Triumph, as HIGHLAND CRYSTAL in the Robcour colours has been punted from 16/1 into as short as 5/1,
