Horse Racing Tips: Most Napped Horse Of The Day Picked By Table Leader

Aintree week begins with four meetings in the UK taking place on Monday. Newcastle, Lingfield, Wincanton and Wolverhampton are the tracks hosting action today and things begin at Newcastle and wrap up at Wolverhampton. Without further ado, let's dig into the Naps table, stats hub and the latest news in the world of racing...

Follow The Leaders
West Country has a healthy lead at the top of the Naps leaderboard as the season draws to a close, however as we know all it takes is one big priced winner from anyone in the competition to shake the whole top of the table up. The Nap of the day from West Country comes in the 15:38 at Wincanton and is ROYAL MER, who is actually popular across the Naps table yet is only third favourite with the bookies.
Although David Pipe's charge has been hit with a nine pound rise in the weights since his last performance, it looks justified and he could well be on an upward curve as he has ran up a sequence of four wins on the spin and has looked better than before with each start. On The Nose is in second place and heads to Wolverhampton for the best bet of the day, in the 17:30 contest siding with LOUIS TREIZE. The eight year old gelding is a big price for glory and should he be successful On The Nose will go top, however he looks to have his work cut out as he is a hard horse to get right and he hasn't run well for a while.
Finally, Brian Flanagan is in third place and opts to back MONVIEL in the 16:08 at Wincanton as his best bet of the day. Paul O'Brien is in the saddle for Harry Derham and while he did pick up a 3lb rise for his second placed effort last time out just over three weeks ago, he may still be on the improve with cheekpieces retained for today's race. He is definitely worth a second look in what is a competitive renewal of this race.
- West Country - Royal Mer - 15:38 Wincanton - P&L: £11.65
- On The Nose - Louis Treize - 17:30 Wolverhampton - P&L: £6.21
- Brian Flanagan - Monviel - 16:08 Wincanton - P&L: £4.44
Monday's Most Popular Naps
As well as being the choice of the Naps table leader as the best bet of the day, ROYAL MER is also today's most popular Naps selection with four experts siding with the Derham Wincanton raider at 15:38. He has a weights hike to contend with in here, and is actually weak in the market at the time of writing, but does on paper at least look one of the form picks.
A trio of horses have been picked by three experts apiece respectively as the Nap, with CIARA PEARL the first to run at Lingfield in the 17:00, with Jim Crowley booked to ride. The other two both take their chance at Wolverhampton and run in consecutive races, the 19:00 and 19:30. The former is favourite VILLE NATALE who could be tough to beat for Roger Varian, before finally NEW IMAGE represents Danny Tudhope and David O'Meara in the next race at a slightly bigger price.
How About Stat?
Paddy Brennan tops today's jockey form table with a strike-rate over the last fortnight of 67%. He is on board just one at Wincanton, who looks to have a live chance in the 14:38...

Racing News Round-Up
- Soft Ground Aintree Looks Certain - The weather forecast in the North West of England looks decidedly sketchy this week, and so with the ground around the country already rain softened after a very wet spring we can expect soft or worse at Aintree and of course in the feature race, the Grand National.
- WInx Filly Breaks Record - Arguably Australian racing's greatest runner of all time WINX has had just one foal thus far in her stuttering breeding career, but the filly sold for a huge fee of A$10 million at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale in Sydney. She will be part owned by Winx's former owner and cost double the previous record fee in Australia.
- Frankie's Sensational Six - At the ripe old age of 53 and with his retirement tour that never led to retirement now in the past, Frankie Dettori is still stealing headlines across the pond! He won a record six races in a row at Santa Anita on Saturday night, bringing back memories of his Ascot Magnificent Seven.
