Lucky 15 Tips: Four Horses To Make Your Guineas Festival

The Guineas Festival is always one of the best meetings in the Flat calendar in Britain and Saturday's action is headlined by the 2,000 Guineas for the colts, while Sunday's itinerary features the 1,000 Guineas for the fillies.
Here we attempt to point you in the direction of a few winners across the two days at Newmarket, with a possible Lucky 15 combination across the weekend.
1.45 Newmarket, Saturday - Extra Place Races Handicap
There's nothing like a big-field sprint handicap for an each-way punt and Apollo One is the horse to have on your side in this one.
Apollo One was an excellent third of 21 in this race last season on his return, so clearly goes well when fresh, and he is dangerous off a 3lb higher mark given his consistency in races of this nature.
He has filled the runner-up position in major handicaps at Epsom's Derby meeting, Royal Ascot and Glorious Goodwood. Those contests were run on a range of surfaces and he won't mind whatever the ground does at Newmarket.
Entering his six-year-old campaign, Apollo One has every chance of improving again and he should give his supporters a good run for their money.
2.20 Newmarket, Saturday - Suffolk Stakes
It is always worth noting when David O'Meara acquires a high-class horse who has lost their way for previous connections. In Theoryofeverything, he has one ready to strike in the Suffolk Stakes.
Theoryofeverything was a high-class performer for John and Thady Gosden last term and finished third in the Greenham Stakes on only his second run behind smart types Charyn and Isaac Shelby.
Unable to score on his next few outings, he arrived at O'Meara's yard with questions to answer. However, he made a bright start when a close fourth from off the speed in a mile contest here at the Craven meeting last month.
That performance leaves him officially 1lb well in and he is bred to be much better than a mark of 92 (by Frankel and out of QEII winner Persuasive). Back O'Meara to get this lightly raced type back on track.
3.35 Newmarket - Saturday - 2,000 Guineas
It appears as if the ground isn't going to be as testing as many feared at Newmarket on Saturday and that will be a delight for the connections of Rosallion in the 2,000 Guineas.
This horse was a breathtaking winner of the Pat Eddery Stakes at two, and that contest produced two subsequent Group 1 winners, while he earned his own top-level strike in the Prix Marcel Boussac to round off his juvenile season, readily accounting for subsequent Breeders' Cup scorer Unquestionable.
Between those fine displays was a disappointing effort on soft ground from Rosallion, but it is worth drawing a line through that as he needs top of the ground. His formlines stack up and the mile should be right up his street the way he has been hitting the line over 7f.
3.40 Newmarket, Sunday - 1,000 Guineas
Sunday's feature 1,000 Guineas is wide open, but French raider Ramatuelle needs to be paid the utmost respect for Christopher Head.
Newmarket suits prominent racers and Ramatuelle might just possess a sharper turn of foot than her rivals in this Fillies' Classic. She landed the Prix Robert Papin over 6f in superb style last season before almost following up in the Group 1 Prix Morny.
She has been aimed at this race and her close second in the Prix Imprudence on her first try at 7f should tee her up perfectly for the 1,000 Guineas.
There is little reason to believe she will not stay the mile and she can provide Head with another major British Group 1 after Big Rock's stunning QEII strike last autumn.
