Paul Nicholls has been frustrated in this race on multiple occasions recently with horses of a similar profile, but punters are backing him to arrest the hoodoo today.
With Kargese claiming the Arkle yesterday, ROMEO COOLIO - her conqueror at the DRF last month - has been a steamer for the Brown Advisory this afternoon to give Gordon Elliott a welcome Festival winner. Elliott runners are on the drift in the Turners, however, with his SKYLIGHT HUSTLE & BALLYFAD friendless and now both available to back at double figures. 2205 winner of the Cross Country STUMPTOWN is another Irish raider on the drift, while QUILIXIOS has almost doubled in price to win the Champion Chase - a race he ran so well in last year but has not been seen since.
