Cheltenham Festival Lucky 15 Tips For Day 3
Day three of the Cheltenham Festival on Thursday has quality to spare, with no less than three Grade 1 events on the card, centred on the Stayers' Hurdle.
Our Lucky15 picks for day three are below, with the multiple bet combining four picks in four races for 15 bets: 4 singles, 6 doubles, 4 trebles and 1 fourâfold acca.
Our selections are carefully selected for maximum value and potential and should give punters a run for their money based on modest stakes.
Key races on Day 3 Cheltenham Festival
Ryanair Mares' Novices' Hurdle at 13:20
Jack Richards Novices' Limited Handicap Chase at 14:00
Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup Amateur Jockeys' Handicap Chase at 17:20
Paddy Power Stayers' Hurdle at 15:20
- The Ryanair Mares' Novices' Hurdle is one of the Festival's newest races, now in its 11th year and pits some of the brightest young mares together.
- The Jack Richards Novices' Limited Handicap Chase is the intermediate novices' chase and was moved from a Grade 1 to a handicap for the 2025 Festival.
- The Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup is the concluding race on day three and is run over the Gold Cup course and distance but for amateur riders only.
- The Paddy Power Stayers' Hurdle is one of the crown jewels of the meeting, a true Championship race where stamina is the name of the game.
Lucky15 selections for Cheltenham Day 2
- Carrigmoornaspruce (Ryanair Mares' Novices' Hurdle 13:20) Declan Queally/James Bowen
- Sixmilebridge (Jack Richards Novices' Limited Handicap Chase 14:00) Fergal O'Brien/Kielan Woods)
- Kabral Du Mathan (Paddy Power Stayers' Hurdle 15:20) Dan Skelton/Harry Skelton
- Glengouly (Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup Amateur Jockeys' Handicap Chase 17:20) Faye Bramley/Dara McGill
Carrigmoornaspruce (Ryanair Mares' Novices' Hurdle 13:20) Declan Queally/James Bowen
The market is dominated by Bambino Fever and she's a worthy favourite but Carrigmoornaspruce has some smart form in the book, both in bumper and over hurdles. She was second in a Leopardstown Grade 1 against geldings when last spotted at Christmas and this race hasn't been kind to favourites in recent times, with the last seven all beaten.

Sixmilebridge (Jack Richards Novices' Limited Handicap Chase 14:00) Fergal O'Brien/Kielan Woods)
Fergal O'Brien trains just 10 miles from Cheltenham and would dearly love a winner at this Festival after some near misses. Sixmilebridge has won here over both hurdle and fences already. He's a perfect 3-3 this season since going chasing and won the Grade 1 Scilly Isles at Sandown last time. He is, therefore, a graded horse in a handicap and can show his class.

Kabral Du Mathan (Paddy Power Stayers' Hurdle 15:20) Dan Skelton/Harry Skelton
Trainer Dan Skelton mused about skipping this race and going to Aintree, but Kabral Du Mathan's form and the drying ground has seemingly changed his mind. He looked very good over 2m4f here on New Year's Day and could be even better now up in trip. With reasons to doubt last year's one-two Bob Olinger and Teahupoo as they get that bit older, this rising star seem set to go well.

Glengouly (Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup Amateur Jockeys' Handicap Chase 17:20) Faye Bramley/Dara McGill
Thursday's finale may have been the long term plan for Glengouly. Faye Bramley's 10-year-old really found his form again early this season, beaten less than a length over an insufficient two miles behind Mambonumberfive at Aintree before winning a competitive handicap chase over the intermediate trip on the Old Course here two starts later from out of the weights.
He's been pulled up twice since, but the quick turnaround suggests connections found an excuse for his run at Newbury just 12 days ago. He's become well treated on his form for Willie Mullins a couple of seasons ago, which included a second in the Thyestes from a mark of 141 and he also ran well for a long way in the 2024 Grand National before an unseat three out.
Notably, this is his first run at this sort of trip since joining Faye Bramley and he's at his best when allowed to dominate, which isn't out of the question in a renewal that lacks many other out-and-out front runners. He puts some real value in this Lucky15 selection.

Staking & Responsibility
A small stakes Lucky15 on these four selections could return as much as £13,000 for a £15.00 each-way stake, if they all win. Punters should consider betting each-way and remember that the unit stake on a Lucky15, e.g. 50p, must be multiplied by 15 to cover all bets in the multiple.
While detailed analysis and informed opinion has gone into choosing these selections, there are no guaranteed returns in racing, though punters would get something back if even one leg is successful. Please gamble responsibly at Cheltenham and remember you must be 18+.
