Follow The Leaders
There is just one place to start in the Naps table today and that is with a round of applause for the fine form of Spotlight, the outfit that are topping the table. In the last eight days they have provided eight best bets, with odds ranging from 4/5 to 8/1, and seven have won! It is a phenomenal tipping performance in anyone's books and sees them flying away over £10 clear at the top of the tree. Today's pick looks to have outstanding claims, LAVENDER HILL MOB in the 13:27 at Lingfield. The horse is odds on at the time of writing but the market support could well be justified on this handicap debut for an easy course winner in a novice. The step up in trip should suit too, so despite the trappy four runner contest he looks the most likely winner.
The Punt are almost £15 off the lead yet still sit in second place and sides with a decent priced horse in FINE CASTING at Sandown. This looks a hot race, the 14:25, and plenty have claims for glory, but perhaps The Punt has faith that the application of cheekpieces for Ben Pauling's charge will see him win for the first time over fences. Hot on the heels of The Punt in second is The Irish Sun - their best bet yesterday Dunboyne in the Thyestes was just denied. Today's pick is a big price and runs at 18:00 at Dundalk, BUCKY LARSON. The nine year old has won three times over C&D in his career, and after a solid third 44 days ago here this looks a good chance for him to rediscover the winning thread.
- Spotlight - Lavender Hill Mob - 13:27 Lingfield - P&L: £25.42
- The Punt - Fine Casting - 14:25 Sandown - P&L: £10.87
- The Irish Sun - Bucky Larson - 18:00 Dundalk - P&L: £9.98
Most Popular Naps
A couple of horses have been given the vote as the best bet by three expert judges, with one at Sandown and one at Wolverhampton. Firstly, the 15:00 at Sandown sees a big field line up for the Grand Military Gold Cup but three pundits think NESTOR PARK has an outstanding chance of victory and make him the best bet of the day. The horse is a consistent type and although wins have been hard to come by, he is a master at hitting the frame. This season he has looked a way off his very best, but there were signs of life last time out at Warwick with blinkers applied and he has them back on today. Chris Connolly of the Norwich Evening News, the Racing Post team On The Nose and Tom Park at the Weekender have picked him as the Nap.
Three more judges have gone to Wolverhampton on the AW tonight in the 17:45, fancying PHOTON. The case for this horse is obvious as he ran a brilliant race for second last time out at Lingfield, with all his best work done in the final strides. The test here looks perfect for him to go one place better, especially if he is ridden more positively. Farringdon at the Morning Star, The Sunday Express and attheraces.com's Lawrence Taylor are the experts siding with this all-weather runner. Both horses with multiple picks are attractively priced today and could appeal as an each-way double for punters that way inclined.

How About Stat?
Cast your eye to our Longest Traveller section of the Stats Page and there are two runaway leaders, both coming from the Scottish stable of Nick Alexander. The team north of the border send Up Helly AA King for the 15:00 contest and Eloi Du Poy for the 16:10 at Sandown, making a huge 431 mile trip! Hopefully the long drive home is made more cheerful with plenty of prize money...
