Horse Racing Tips: Kane To Land Killer Blow

The weather is back playing havoc with British and Irish racing today, with Bangor already abandoned and Uttoxeter on Saturday under threat. Nevertheless there is still plenty of racing to get stuck into this Friday and here we run you through the Naps, stats and latest news in the world of racing...

Most Popular Friday Naps
Just one horse has been selected as the best bet of four Naps table entrants today, and he is a runner for recent Grade 1 winning connections. It was brilliant to see Elixir De Nutz win the rearranged Clarence House Chase a few weeks back, gallantly fighting off odds-on favourite Jonbon. Freddie Gingell was in the plate that day and gave his horse a peach to secure a first ever Grade 1, while it was also the first as a head trainer for Joe Tizzard.
The duo are becoming synonymous with one another on the track these days and the best bet of the day according to four experts comes from this combo, KILLER KANE in the 15:40 at Kempton. This horse has had wind surgery since his last run and won this race after an almighty gamble last season. He is five pounds higher this year, but one suspects Tizzard has always had this race in mind after the style of his victory in 2023, so if he is back on-song he should take all the beating. There are a few high flying Naps table entrants that have sided with Killer Kane as the best bet of the day, but we will discuss that in more detail come the Follow The Leaders paragraph...
Follow The Leaders
Both Spotlight in first and West Country in second are in agreement today; KILLER KANE is the best bet at all the tracks hosting racing. The Joe Tizzard trained Freddie Gingell ridden gelding won this race in brilliant fashion last season after seeing his price hammered in throughout the day, and it is clear both Spotlight and West Country believe the plans have been made for Killer Kane to repeat the feat.
The Punt is now in fifth place in the Naps table but also sides with Killer Kane as the best bet today, while The Irish Sun in third is waiting for Dundalk's evening meeting for their best bet of the day, WISHES AND DREAMS in the 19:30 contest. This Highland Reel filly is a stable switcher today and after leaving Joseph O'Brien for Ciaran Murphy, the cheekpieces are applied for the first time which should help her to concentrate on the job at hand. This looks a competitive race but she has shown flickers of promise throughout her career thus far and perhaps the Irish Sun think Murphy is the man to finally unlock all her potential.

Racing News Round-Up
- Weather wipes out Donny - In stunning scenes yesterday, a blizzard hit Doncaster racecourse and forced the abandonment of their afternoon meeting. Hopefully the drive home for connections wasn't too strenuous.
- Uttoxeter at risk - Sticking with the weather, tomorrow's card at Uttoxeter looks under threat if more snow falls and there is more ice. Newbury looks set to go ahead thankfully, but their cracking card will more than likely be run on heavy ground.
- Mahler Mission To Defy Tradition - Last seen running a gallant second in the Coral Gold Cup at Newbury in 2022, MAHLER MISSION will head straight to the Grand National with no prep run, his trainer John McConnell has confirmed. He will be one of very few to win the race with no prep if he pulls it off.
