Horse Racing Tips: Kelso Runner Well Supported

With Aintree and Cheltenham now behind us, many see this as the time the Jumps winds down and the flat picks up pace. Nevertheless, as always there are big things around the corner in the sport of horse racing and Monday marks the beginning of Scottish National week. Here we take a look at the news, naps and stats as a new week begins...

Naps Table Leaders And Most Popular Nap Of The Day
The most Napped horse today runs at Kelso in the 16:00, with Jackie Stephen's charge EIRE STREET supported by five experts as the best bet of the day. This horse is on a steep upward curve, having switched yards and looking reborn with two heavy ground handicap wins in February proving he is firing. He is now 8lbs higher than he was last time out, but won like one who could carry much more weight and still be competitive so he rates a fair pick at 4/1 or above.
The leaderboard in the Naps competition looks a one horse race at present, with West Country nearly £20 clear as the finale at Sandown approaches. Their Nap today is CRAZY LUCK in the 16:20 at Windsor, with Silvestre De Sousa booked to ride this horse who hasn't won since 2022 but is now 6lbs below his last winning mark and is in a winnable race.
On The Nose is in second but sadly the race their Nap was set to run in at Redcar has been abandoned, while the entrant in third is Brian Flanagan who is backing the aforementioned Eire Street as his best chance of a winner on Monday.
How About Stat?
Archie Watson's CHOSEN HERO is today's longest traveller, with his journey to Kelso being the only one over 300 miles on this fine Monday. Check out more stats regarding today's racing in our hub below...

Racing News Round-Up
- Masterful Mullins Bags National With Maximus - Favourite backers were rejoicing at Aintree on Saturday as the world's biggest race headed to the market leader I AM MAXIMUS, who put in a brilliant performance to scoop the trophy with Paul Townend in the plate. Willie Mullins was delighted as trainer, as was owner JP McManus.
- Willie Now Favourite for British Trainers Title - After bagging a cool £500,000 in prize money for I Am Maximus's win, Willie Mullins is now odds-on to be British Champion trainer. He will certainly be sending strong teams to Ayr this weekend as well as the finale at Sandown and other tracks, which should be exciting.
- No Fatalities Makes 'New' National A Success - Many decried the changes made to the Grand National for 2024, but the race seemed much safer this year than last year and with times changing, that is the key thing jumps racing needs to prosper. No fatalities and a record number of finishers means the new National is here to stay.
