Horse Racing Tips: Frost Fancied By Spotlight at Ludlow

Follow The Leaders
Spotlight will attempt to stop the run of poor form of their Naps with PRETENDING int he 15:40 at Ludlow today. Lucy Wadham's charge is very interesting with this marked step up in trip potentially bringing out plenty of improvement in him. He has been third the last twice since winning at Sandown in December and Bryony Frost has a live chance at a tasty price with this one.
West Country have leapfrogged The Punt into second place once more and they wait for the final race at Taunton for their Nap of the day with SORCELEUR. The Nicholls and Cobden representative in the bumper is one of two for the yard in the race, but is certainly the more fancied of the pair. He chased home a very smart looking winner of an Exeter bumper last time out and a repeat here would make him the one to beat. Attempting to rocket further up the board in third are The Punt and they are with MAGICAL KING in the 14:15 at Wetherby. Stuart Edmonds' charge is one of the day's strongest market movers of the day and with cheekpieces applied following a somewhat disappointing run last time out, plenty of improvement is expected.
- Spotlight - Pretending - 15:40 Ludlow - P&L: £11.38
- West Country - Sorceleur - 17:35 Taunton - P&L: £9.24
- The Punt - Magical King - 14:15 Wetherby - P&L: £6.17
Thursday's Most Popular Naps
WINDTOTHELIGHTNING runs in the 16:35 at Wetherby today and despite a heavy fall last time out, is the most popular Nap of the day with five votes. Prior to the mishap the Greenall and Guerriero mare had won easily at this course and distance before running with credit off a much higher mark at Cheltenham. She looks the one to beat in here providing she is no worse for wear from that fall and at 4/1 at the time of writing with BetMGM, certainly makes plenty of appeal.
Ben Pauling and Kielan Woods unite with WRECKLESS ERIC in the 15:25 at Wetherby and this odds-on favourite has been Napped by four competition entrants. The stable could hardly be in better form and after a good second on hurdles debut last time out at Newbury, she looks to hold all the aces in here. Finally, just one horse has been sided with by three judges and she runs in the 16:25 at Taunton, THE MIDWIFE. She got off the mark in style last time out on handicap debut at Market Rasen and connections probably expected more than just a five pound rise given how taking she was that day. This is tougher, but she'll be in the mix.
How About Stat?
Richard Patrick has been flying along of late, and with 5 wins from his 6 rides over the last fortnight he is operating at a whopping 83% win-rate! He has just one ride today, aboard a strong favourite at Wetherby for Kerry Lee...
