Horse Racing Tips: Tight At The Top Of Nap Table

Warwick and Clonmel have fallen foul of the weather today, but we are still left with a busy enough Thursday to get stuck into. There is action from Lingfield, Southwell, Wolverhampton and Naas for racing fans to enjoy so let's take a look at some of the Naps, an eye-catching stat for the day and a round-up of the latest racing news...

Follow The Leaders
There is less than 50p of profit between the top two in the Naps table today, with West Country holding a slender advantage over On The Nose. The best bet of the day for our leader is HIGHLANDS LEGACY in the 15:35 at Southwell, with Jonjo Jr booked to ride for his father Jonjo O'Neill. He has some decent bumper form behind him and a good second on hurdles debut, but if he is to justify his odds-on price at the time of writing he will have to prove that his heavy fall last time out has not left a mark.
Hot on West Country's heels is On The Nose, and their Nap comes on the AW at Wolverhampton in the 19:30 with PERSIAN PHOENIX. Billy Loughnane is booked for Charlie Johnstone on this C&D winner and while he disappointed just twelve days ago here on reappearance, that may have been a cobweb blower and now 3lbs lower we can expect him to make a bold bid in this race.
Brian Flanagan has scrambled back into the top three and his best bet of the day comes at Naas in the 16:50, JERONIMO DE L'OUCH. Jack Kennedy rides for Michael Kennedy and he looks one of the likely winners in this very competitive race, with his form in novice hurdles looking strong and this handicap debut looking a good opportunity for him to at the very least be in the shake up following the final obstacle.
- West Country - Highlands Legacy - 15:35 Southwell - P&L: £10.62
- On The Nose - Persian Phoenix - 19:30 Wolverhampton - P&L: £10.21
- Brian Flanagan -Jeronimo De L'ouch - 16:50 Naas - P&L: £4.69
Thursday's Most Popular Naps
Just one horse has been selected as the Nap by three experts today, STAR OF LADY M for David O'Meara with Danny Tudhope in the saddle. The Havana Grey filly runs in the 15:50 at Lingfield over just more than five furlongs and she has been a consistent sort for the team, with a course and distance win to her name back in February.
She proved in as good form as ever when running a fine race for second at Newmarket just over three weeks ago in a decent looking race and now back at a track she clearly acts at, it is unsurprising to see she is one of the market leaders.
Stats The Way To Do It
Lorcan Williams is riding at 45% at the moment, which sees him top of our fortnightly form table for jockeys with a ride today. He gets the leg up on just one, in the final race at Southwell today at a tasty price...

Racing News Round-Up
- Racing World In Mourning - Yesterday the desperately sad news broke that young rider Stefano Cherchi passed away from the injuries he suffered riding in Australia. He was just 23 and across social media the tributes poured in yesterday for a great man and a talented jockey with a big future. May he Rest In Peace.
- Sunday Evening Racing On The Ropes - More than a third of jockeys have intimated they would not support Sunday evening race meetings, meaning the prospect of them becoming a regular fixture in our calendars looks remote.
