Follow The Leaders
Brian Flanagan is now top of the Naps table by over £2 worth of profit and his pick for glory today is RAFFLE TICKET in the 15:00 contest at Exeter. The top weight in this Veteran's Chase has the services of Champion Jockey elect Harry Cobden in the plate - which is rarely a bad thing - and he has been on the improve for some time now.
Mel Rowley's charge was a decent enough hurdler but has improved for fences and after finishing a fine second, pulling a long way clear of third, at Doncaster last time out he has a four pound rise here but it looks on the lenient side. Expect Cobden to have his mount there or thereabouts come the finish.
West Country are in second place and they Nap in the race an hour beforehand, the 14:00 at Exeter. with LONGSHANKS for Kayley Woolacott. He ran a good race for second here just under a month ago and despite a patchy profile in his career, his trainer looks to have finally found the key to him,
Spotlight, the former leader of this competition, are now in third place and their best bet of the day comes from Wolverhampton in the 20:00 race. David Simcock's course and distance winner LOUGH LEANE is hunting a four timer and was better than ever six days ago when scoring at Newcastle. He is penalised for that, but has already seen market support and could well be still ahead of the handicapper.
- Brian Flanagan - Raffle Ticket - 15:00 Exeter - P&L: £15.29
- West Country - Longshanks - 14:00 Exeter - P&L: £12.48
- Spotlight - Lough Leane - 20:00 Wolverhampton - P&L: £3.36
Tuesday's Most Popular Naps
As well as being the choice of Brian Flanagan, the Naps table leader, RAFFLE TICKET in the 15:00 at Exeter is also by far the most popular best bet selection today with seven experts fancying the chances of Mel Rowley's charge.
He is lightly raced for a veteran and has an obvious chance in the Veterans' race which headlines the card, and having such a high profile jockey who is chasing every winner like his life depends on it also helps.
Another horse has four votes as the Nap today, in a Wetherby handicap hurdle at 16:15. FAINCHE is winless in 22 runs over hurdles, but Micky Hammond's charge has been slowly improving and has placed a couple of times recently. He looks very well weighted here and has top northern jock Brian Hughes in the plate, so maybe he will make it 23rd time lucky today.
One horse has been picked as the Nap by three experts, PARICOLOR in the 15:30 at Exeter. Harry Cobden rides for David Pipe and this horse has been a model of consistency this season over various trips. 2m5f on soft looks to be his ideal conditions and that's what he faces today, so expect him to be in the mix.

Racing News Round-Up
- Mullins aims for the stars - Ballyburn looked phenomenal in winning the Gallaghers, and Willie Mullins has mused that he may attempt to win both the Champion Hurdle and Gold Cup with his latest star. Can he follow in Dawn Run's footsteps?
- Hewick heading for the Bowl - In news that will irritate plenty of connections, Grand National top weight Hewick is set to bypass the race and instead run in the Aintree Bowl. He swerved the Gold Cup due to the heavy ground and Shark Hanlon is bullish it'll pay dividends in the Aintree Grade 1.
- Chazzesmee at the double? - After winning the Irish Lincolnshire in brilliant fashion, Fozzy Stack is aiming Chazzesmee at Doncaster for the English Lincoln. Can he win the race and add it to his collection?
