ITV Racing Tips: Our best bets for day two of Cambridgeshire meeting at Newmarket
We are heading to the crescendo of the 2023 Flat season and it's Newmarket that takes centre stage on Friday afternoon in front of the ITV racing cameras, as four races will take place from Flat HQ on day two of the Cambridgeshire meeting. Our in house tipster Steve Chambers previews the action and picks out his best bets on the live terrestrial action...

13:50 Newmarket - Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai British EBF Rosemary Stakes
John & Thady Gosden's Coppice has failed to kick on from victory in the Sandringham Stakes at Royal Ascot earlier in the season, but the three-year-old will drop back to Listed company on Friday for the Rosemary Stakes at 13:50 and has to be one of the leading contenders for the opening racing in front of the ITV cameras.
However, there could be some more attractive value further down the betting and the one that stands out is Coppice's stablemate QUEEN FOR YOU, who was last seen finishing second in the Group 3 Atalanta Stakes at Sandown last time out. Fifth in the Group 1 Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot, Queen For You may not have reached the heights expected, but the daughter of Kingman ran a fine race behind Heredia last time out and actually beat Potapova, who lines up in this event. If she can improve slightly from that Group 3 runner-up position last time out then she has the capabilities of landing this prize.

14:25 Newmarket - Princess Royal Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai Stakes
It could prove to be a profitable afternoon at Flat HQ for the Gosden team as they have another strong duo lining up in the 14:25 contest, which is a Group 3 event, and Running Lion appears the one to beat as she put in a very promising effort when second at Salisbury last time out and she's entitled to be at the head of the betting.
But, it could be another Gosden runner that can prevail in this as the hat-trick-seeking SWEET MEMORIES can continue on her rapid incline and make it a third run on the bounce. The daughter of Sea The Stars kicked off her winning run with a win in a Newbury novice stakes, while she kicked on from that with an impressive Listed win at Newmarket. Returning to the same track again on Friday, she will relish lining up over 1m 4f again and with a Grade 1 entry in the Fillies' & Mares' Stakes on British Champions Day then she can continue her meteoric rise and make it three wins in a row.

15:00 Newmarket - Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai Rockfel Stakes
Ollie Sangster's SHUWARI has been mightily impressive in her two racecourse starts as having won at Newbury on debut she then went and landed an eye-catching victory at Sandown last time out and she will now look to step up to Group company for the first time. She holds an entry for the Group 1 Fillies' Mile at the end of the season, so she will need to win this if she is to book her place in that, but the daughter of New Bay has shaped like she could be a real top notch filly and has to be the one to beat.
She's short enough in the betting with the likes of Ylang Ylang and Carla's Way looking notable dangers, as they have shown some decent form on the track, but Shuwari could just be a little classier than her rivals here and she can hand likely favourite backers a fine victory in the Rockfel Stakes, which can sometimes throw up a star of the future.

15:35 Newmarket - Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai Joel Stakes
Richard Hannon's Chindit has been in tremendous form this season as having won the Superior Mile he then went and landed the Fortune Stakes at Salisbury and he will step back to Group 2 company on Friday for the Joel Stakes. It maybe a race that has only attracted six runners, but Chindit certainly sets the form standard, but there's a fascinating runner in the shape of MALJOOM, who has been off the track for over a year.
A winner of the German 2000 Guineas, the William Haggas-trained raider hasn't been seen since finish fourth in last season's St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot, but if he can recapture some of his old form then he has to be the one to be with here. He will receive weight from bet365 Mile winner Mutasaabeq, so can down that rival, while he should have far too much class for Chindit and Maljoom can book his place at British Champions Day with an authoritative victory here.
