ITV Racing Tips: On the Hunt for More Racing League Winners

Billy Grimshaw has found a winner in both of his Racing League previews so far at odds of 18/1 and 5/1 respectively. Our coverage of the concept is well in profit over the past fortnight and we have got another quartet of picks ready to read from Windsor on Thursday evening...

The opener at Windsor for week four of the Racing League can go to a horse that thoroughly deserves his time to shine, EQUALITY for Charles Hills and leading team London and The South. Everything seems to be in Marco Ghiani's mount's favour for this contest, with his favourable draw and more than fair mark being his just rewards for some credible efforts in defeat recently. He began this season with a course and distance success before a brilliant third in the Epsom Dash when fighting a losing battle against the draw bias. The winner that day has gone on to rocket up the ratings and Equality's performance should not be underestimated. He has been unlucky with the draw a couple of times since and with his penchant for slow starts this has proved his undoing at both Ascot and Goodwood. In all runs this campaign he has shown his ability, however, and now in a weaker contest with a favourable draw and in calmer waters where his slow start may not prove quite so costly I think he has a great chance of getting London and The South and followers of this column off to the perfect start.
Spring Bloom for The East just about shades favouritism from the selection at the time of writing and Robert Eddery's charge has solid claims. He won a couple of races over this course and distance back in July and if his Doncaster disappointment last time out was just a blip he should at a minimum be involved in the shake up for the places. Kimngrace would be a welcome winner for basement dwellers Team Ireland and her Goodwood handicap win back in June was impressive so she cannot be ruled out, while of the outsiders I thought Vintage Clarets looked a touch overpriced if his long mid season break has brought him back to his two year old form, although that could be quite a leap of faith even at 22/1.

17:30 - William Hill Pick Your Places Racing League Race 24
This looks one of the trickier races on the card and indeed of the whole Racing League concept so far, but the one I am going to give my vote to is MONSIEUR KODI for Richard Fahey and Team Yorkshire. The three year old son of Kodiac has been on fire this season, winning three of his six starts including what I thought was a brilliant performance back at Carlisle about three weeks ago. On that day he was an authoritative winner and defied a seven pound rise, a feat he must match and better this time with an eight pound hike in the weights. However, one as progressive as he is shouldn't find that too much trouble and I'm backing him to keep the winning momentum rolling. Dora Penny is certainly the form horse coming into this race with four wins on the spin behind her, including the last one over this course and distance. She looks the main danger but at odds of 3/1 and below is too short for my liking.
Quest For Fun should be there or thereabouts for Julie Camacho and the Lope De Vega gelding can be forgiven for disappointing last time out at Doncaster. Scratch that run and judge him on his successes north of the border and he is another with a big chance. There aren't many in here that would surprise with victory but one that looks overpriced down the bottom is Mokaatil, who will be ridden by Adam Kirby. He is carrying a penalty for a Sandown win recently but the seven year old looked almost back in peak form to my eye there and if repeating that effort can outrun his odds.

Hopefully Richard Fahey and Team Yorkshire have a golden half hour or so with my previous tip and this one as I am fairly keen on ANA GOLD to build on a promising run last time out at Haydock. She has been running brilliantly for some time now without managing to get her head in front, beaten just a neck in two of her last four defeats and I think the way this race looks set to pan out could really suit. The daughter of Havana Gold clearly has plenty of talent as these close defeats have all come in races of which she has run freely and been keener than ideal, so the expected pace in this race should be perfect and help her finally get her deserved victory this campaign. At the very least she can hit the frame again so an each-way bet looks the obvious play.
Snapcracklepop currently heads the market but looks a few points too short to me. Despite winning over course and distance and coming here in good form I'm not convinced he warrants favouritism over Nuvolari. Richard Hannon's inmate would be the one I am most worried about for the selection when it comes to the win part of the bet, and with the hood applied for the first time by shrewd connections he is not one to dismiss. Island Bandit looked good last time out at Sandown but has to contend with a big penalty here and would take a huge performance to win, while Dairien is an interesting raider for Jessica Harrington and Team Ireland but not interesting enough for me to sway from Ana Gold.

The final selection of the day comes in the penultimate race and the each-way angle into this race is with TYPICAL WOMAN. I actually thought she would have won her last race at Sandown were it not for the trouble she met in-running, but that could prove a blessing in disguise for connections and her team as she gets into this race off a very workable looking mark. With a repeat performance and better luck she should be bang there and with Saffie Osbourne in the saddle with her 3lb claim aiding the selection further, I can see her making amends for her luckless Sandown run and wrapping the column up in the perfect fashion, with a winner.
Just like in most races on the card there are plenty of dangers, none more so than Sanitiser, a course winner who has cheekpieces applied for the first time and deserves to head the market in my opinion. That honour is bestowed instead on Ireland's Winforglory but that is surely more on potential than substance as he makes his handicap debut, while Cockalorum wasn't good enough at York last time out but this is easier and he could make his presence felt.
