13:15 Newton Abbot

A facile 13-length winner at Newton Abbot ten days ago, Manor Park will look to produce a similarly dominant display on Monday and looks the one to beat in the 13:15 contest. Hiked up a stone by the handicapper, Manor Park will need to improve again if he is to defy his new mark, but the manner in which he sauntered to success over course and distance suggested he could bag back-to-back wins when lining up today. Neil Mulholland's Translink and the Christian Williams-trained Kuiper Belt have to be given a second look, but providing Manor Park turns up in similar fashion to earlier this month then it's hard to not see him coast to victory again.

13:45 Newton Abbot

Four go to post for the 13:45 contest, but it should prove to be a competitive little betting heat with Fergal O'Brien's Byzantine Empire and the Paul Nicholls-trained Celestial Force looking the two main contenders for glory. The former was a fair performer on the Flat for John Gosden and since his switch to hurdling has shown promise. A winner at Southwell last time out, the son of Golden Horn will line up off 114 this afternoon, and that looks more than fair. However, Celestial Force was superior on the Flat for Tom Dascombe and was rated in the mid-80s. Unable to land any sort of blow in the Swinton last time out, this test will be a whole lot easier, and with such a small field the Ditcheat charge should be able to get into a decent rhythm and he can pull clear in the closing stages.

15:20 Newton Abbot

It could prove to be an excellent day for Paul Nicholls, who has a terrific chance of tasting more success in the 15:20 with Easyrun De Vassy looking the class act in the five-runner event. The seven-year-old will take on a quartet of veterans in the 3m 1f 170y handicap chase, and he will be eager to recapture the form that saw him win on chasing debut at Fontwell. He failed to follow that up when last of seven on his last outing, but he's had a significant break since then, and if Nicholls can get him back firing on all cylinders then he can ease to victory.
