World Racing Guide: Four bets at Will Rogers Downs

Having tipped up two winners at Will Rogers Downs last night, Nick Seddon heads back Stateside on Tuesday and picks out his best bets...
Will Rogers Downs (United States)
We're back in Oklahoma for a 10-race card at Will Rogers Downs this evening, and the opening contest is a five-furlong maiden (19:15). This is as bad as it gets as far as the formbook is concerned, and it will be disappointing if Just What I Need can't open her account at the third time of asking. She's shown only modest form in her two starts so far, but did at least offer plenty to work on when third over six furlongs here at the beginning of the month. That effort reads particularly well in the context of this race, and this looks a fine opportunity for her to get off the mark.
In race three, Rocky Boy Indian can seal a third win in his last five starts (20:15). The five-year-old is holding his form really well at the moment, and he showed an excellent attitude to return to winning ways over a mile here last month, battling all the way to the line. This contest looks no tougher, and with the drop back to six furlongs likely to play into his hands, he can take advantage of a good draw in stall one by going in again.
In the fourth race, R V T Thunder Road can belatedly get off the mark (20:45). Admittedly, it's 12 starts without success for the four-year-old so far, but he's proven to be a model of steady improvement in his past three outings over course and distance. He produced plenty of good late work to run on when fifth here last time out - which his best effort to date - and provided he's ridden a little more prominently here, a repeat performance could be enough for him to take what looks a lowly affair.
Lastly, it could be worth taking a chance on Austin Calling in race eight (22:45). He's had two starts so far, and although he was down the field when seventh over six furlongs at Hastings last time out, he showed plenty to work on, pressing the leader before fading away late on. That outing came in a much stronger contest, and dropped down in both class and in trip to five and a half furlongs here, it would be no surprise to see him strike with his sights sufficiently lowered.
