Enable to sidestep Yorkshire Oaks for Kempton assignment

Enable will sidestep a potential clash with the Epsom Oaks winner Love at the York Ebor Festival and instead head to the September Stakes at Kempton, as she steps up her preparations for the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.
The six-year-old looked set to clash with Love in the Yorkshire Oaks in a fortnight, a race which she has won twice before during her career, including when defeating Magical 12 months ago.
But her connections have instead opted to send her to Kempton for the September Stakes as she builds up for a tilt at a record-breaking third win in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
Enable has previous in the September Stakes, overcoming a long lay-off to defeat Crystal Ocean in the Group 3 contest in 2018, and her connections will be hopeful that it proves to be a good omen.
The daughter of Nathaniel was thwarted in her bid for history by Waldgeist in last season’s Arc, but she has returned in good form this year, sauntering to success in last month’s King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot.
She created history when doing so, becoming the first horse to win that race three times, but the Arc is her main objective this season, and her connections have decided that Kempton is a better fit.
Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to owner Khalid Abdullah, said in a statement: "Prince Khalid has decided that Enable's next start will be the September Stakes at Kempton on September 5.
"As has been stated the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe remains her main objective."
