Templegate of The Sun has long been a well respected tipster in the racing media and that tipster has opted for another contender for the aforementioned Mullins and Templegate has napped GAILLARD DU MESNIL, who was last seen narrowly winning the National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham last month and that proven stayer is sure to be doing all his best work in the closing stages.

Lawrence Taylor from At The Races is hoping history will repeat itself as he has napped the Emmet Mullins-trained NOBLE YEATS, who was a shock 50/1 winner in this event 12 months ago, and while he's not anywhere near that price here he faces a tough ask from a significantly higher mark. Last seen finishing fourth in the Cheltenham Gold Cup, he heads to Merseyside in fine fettle, but does have a stiff ask to emulate Tiger Roll by winning back-to-back renewals.

The Punt from the Racing Post, who sits second in the naps table has opted for DELTA WORK, who was third in this event last year and was last seen winning the Cross Country Chase at Cheltenham, while another monster priced nap comes from Spotlight from the Racing Post, who has napped the big outsider ROI MAGE, who lines up for Patrick Griffin and could be one that outruns his odds.
