Horse Racing Tips: Kane to hit the back of the net at Kempton
There are five horse racing fixtures taking place on Friday and the action starts at Bangor-on-Dee over the Jumps at 13:20, while there's alternative National Hunt racing from Kempton. A trio of all-weather Flat cards will be available today with Southwell providing the afternoon action, with Dundalk and Chelmsford both taking place this evening and we take a look at some of the most eye-catching naps here...
Joe Tizzard's Killer Kane has been gradually slipping down the handicap in recent outings and has now returned to his last winning mark of 126 for today's 15:00 at Kempton Park, and the eight-year-old has proven one of the most popular naps of the day with three tipsters napping the Tizzard charge. Last seen finishing fourth at Newbury in the Mandarin Handicap Chase, the 3/1 chance will find today's assignment a little easier and the dropping of 1lb in the handicap could see him produce a more promising effort than the last time. The likes of The Punt from the Racing Post and Matt Polley from the Ipswich Star have napped Killer Kane, who was a winner of a novice event on this card 12 months ago, so he will be looking to strike again today.
We switch to Bangor's afternoon jumping action for the other horse napped by three tipsters on a busy Friday and the horse that has caught the eye of a triumvirate of tipsters is the Jedd O'Keeffe-trained Miah Grace, who is a well-fancied 13/8 shot for the 13:50 race. Andrew Bladen from the Wolverhampton Express & Star is one of the three tipsters to nap Miah Grace, who was a winner over fences last time out at Newcastle off a mark of 130 and the in-form eight-year-old will attempt to defy a 4lbs rise and claim victory today.
Postdata from the Racing Post sits behind Bladen in the naps table in second place and is another tipster that goes to Bangor this afternoon for the best bet of the day, and Postdata has napped the 12/1 chance Morozov Cocktail, who runs at 14:20. Sixth at Doncaster last time out, Tim Easterby's charge has winning form off a mark of 103 and lines up off 100 today, so has to be respected in a competitive-looking betting heat.
Rory Delargy of The Irish Field has been in tremendous tipping form of late notching up back-to-back winning selections and he takes on the aforementioned Killer Kane in the 15:00 with Dog Of War, who is a 5/1 chance for today's event. Dan Skelton's charge has won three of his last five outings over fences, so is looking to continue that excellent form by landing another prize over the larger obstacles today.
Farringdon from the Morning Star is the only other tipster in our naps table going in search of a third winning nap on the bounce and that tipster heads to Southwell's afternoon card. The form tipster has napped the 10/1 shot Lynns Boy in the 13:40 contest and that contender is a course and distance winner, but will have the burden of top weight today, however, the five-year-old has been dropped 4lbs in the handicap, so has to be respected if returning to form.
Lee Sobot of The Yorkshire Evening Post will wait until this evening to his best bet of the day, and the tipster, who sits in third place, has napped the 7/4 shot Goose Rock, who runs in the 19:15 at Chelmsford, while at Dundalk's evening card Rory Paddock from the Jersey Evening Post has napped the 6/1 shot Dream Today in the 17:00.
