Horse Racing Tips: Queen tipped to reign at York on Friday

The Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes is off at 15:35 this afternoon and the 5f sprint showpiece has been a popular destination for our tipsters and the Richard Fahey-trained The Platinum Queen is bidding to become the first two-year-old since 2007 to land the coveted prize, and the 4/1 chance is the most popular nap of the day. Four of the racing writers including the second placed Garry Owen have put up the youngster, who will be in huge receipt of weight this afternoon and is a fascinating runner for connections.

James Tate's Royal Aclaim is the 2/1 favourite for the Nunthorpe and is bidding to maintain a sparkling unbeaten record, which has seen him notch up three wins from three and the speedball is another that has proven extremely popular with our tipsters, as three of them have napped the jolly. Last seen winning the City Walls Stakes at York, Tate's hugely progressive three-year-old has been napped by both Luke Tucker from the Cambridge Evening News and The Score from Racing TV and will be the one to beat.

One final selection in the Nunthorpe that has caught the eye is the 9/1 chance Flotus, who was a Group 3 winner at York last time out, and is aiming to sparkle in top-class company on Friday and Simon & Ed Crisford's raider has been napped by three tipsters including Paul Kealy from The Weekender.
