Horse Racing Tips: Dakota to strike Gold at Ripon on Monday

Dakota Gold has recorded a whopping 14 wins during his glittering career, and the eight-year-old will attempt to make it win number 15 on Monday when he lines up in the 15:25 at Ripon. The Michael Dods-trained sprinter is a course and distance winner and has proven the most popular selection amongst our racing writers as three of them have napped the gelding in today's 6f event. Steve Mullington from 888Sport and Dean Kilbryde from the East Anglian Daily Times are two of the tipsters backing the Dods raider, who was last seen finishing a fine second at Newcastle.

Newsboy of the Daily Mirror and The North of the Racing Post are taking on Dakota Gold with Hyperfocus, who is a 5/2 chance to bag the win, while Moorestyle from the Daily Star Sunday has opted to side with the 9/2 chance Chairmanoftheboard in what looks to be a hugely competitive contest.

There's some competitive action at Ayr and the progressive four-year-old Ben Asker is looking to win back-to-back races at Ayr, and that raider has been napped by Garry Owen from the Daily Record in the 15:18 event. A half-a-length winner last time out at the Scottish track, Ben Asker will look to defy a 2lb rise in the weights to land this prize, but if he returns in similar form then has to be respected.

Glendale from The Scotsman is another heading to Ayr for the best bet of the day, and that tipster has sided with the 7/2 shot Glasses Up, who runs in the 14:48 event and is bidding for a sixth course success.

Expert Eye from On The Nose is flying high at the top of the naps table with a sparkling profit of £45.61 and the tipster has been in tremendous form in recent days as they notched back-to-back winning naps on Saturday and Sunday, and will bid for the hat-trick today. Heading to Windsor's evening fixture, Expert Eye is backing the William Haggas-trained Spanish, who lines up in the 19:30 race for William Haggas. The daughter of Lope De Vega is yet to get her head in front, but has shaped with real promise and is a 15/8 chance to break her maiden tag, and looks to be a major player.

Ian Gaughran of the Irish Herald is the nearest pursuer to Expert Eye in the naps table with a profit of £21.48 and that tipster heads to Naas this afternoon for his best bet of the day, and Gaughran is backing the 3/1 chance Profitable Edge, who is still a maiden, but has shown some promise on the level, and could break the duck today in a relatively mediocre contest.

The biggest priced nap of the day also runs at Naas this afternoon and Rory Paddock of the Jersey Evening Post has put up the 40/1 outsider We're On The Way in the 16:45 at Naas, while Lambourn from The Racing Post is another opting for a 40/1 chance and has sided with Havana Goldrush in the 19:00 at Windsor.
