Horse Racing Tips: Check out a host of tips for the Scottish Grand National
We are set for a fabulous day's racing and the obvious highlights come from Ayr racecourse as they host the Scottish Grand National at 15:35 this afternoon, while the Scottish Champion Hurdle is another showpiece race on a cracking National Hunt card. There's alternative racing at Newbury, Chepstow, Lingfield, Leopardstown and Wolverhampton on Saturday and we take a look at some of the most popular tips from a host of racing writers for what is a cracking day of action on the track...

An ultra-competitive field will line up for the Scottish Grand National at 15:35 and it's no surprise that the Ayr marathon has been the focus of many of our tipsters with their nap of the day, and there are some hugely popular selections for the big race. Pat Fahy's Irish raider Stormy Judge is the most napped horse of the entire day as the 7/1 chance has been put up as the best bet of the day by four racing writers. One of the tipsters is the The Scout from the Daily Express, who has been in blistering tipping form of late and has notched up three winning selections on the spin, so will be hoping Stormy Judge can be the fourth.
Other runners in the Scottish National attracting significant support are the lightly-weighted Cool Mix, who is 10/1 to grab glory, and that raider has been napped by three tipsters, while another trio have opted to side with the Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained Fantastikas, who is an eye-catching 16/1 chance, and having finished seventh in the Ultima Handicap Chase at Cheltenham, the Naunton inmate will want to improve on that effort.

Veering away from the Scottish National, we have a multitude of tips from elsewhere and current naps table leader Steve Mullington heads to Chepstow and has put up Mikhailovich, who is an interesting newcomer for Kim Bailey in the 17:07 finale. Currently a 15/2 chance with the bookmakers, Mullington will be hoping to enhance his lead over the second placed Farringdon from the Morning Star, who has put 6/1 chance Wildfire Warrior as the best bet of the day in the 13:42 race at Chepstow.
Ian Gaughan of the Irish Herald is another that has been in decent tipping form - notching back-to-back winners and he heads to the Scottish Champion Hurdle at Ayr at 14:25 for his best bet of the day and he is backing the John McConnell-trained Anna Bunina for the Graded event, and that mare is a leading contender at 5/1 for what is a competitive renewal.
