Horse Racing Tips: Check out all Thursday's top tips here
Seven horse racing fixtures take place on Thursday with the afternoon action coming from Yarmouth, Roscommon, Lingfield and Ripon, while there's a trio of evening fixtures at Fairyhouse, Market Rasen and Carlisle. We preview all the action here and look to point you in the right direction of a few winners that have caught the eye of a number of racing tipsters in our racing naps table...
Jason Heavey from The Star is currently sitting top of the naps table with a profit of £21.65 and he will head to Ripon's Flat card this afternoon for the best bet of the day and Heavey has napped the 9/4 chance Hurstwood in the 17:22 race. Proving popular with our tipsters with three of them - including Heavey - napping the previous course and distance winner, Hurstwood was last seen finishing down the field at Catterick, but dropped 1lb by the handicapper to a mark of 55 the six-year-old is now 3lbs lower than his last winning mark - and that win came at Ripon.
The Yorkshire venue has attracted a number of tipsters today and the Karl Burke-trained Tele Red is another horse that has been napped by three tipsters and that 5/2 shot lines up in the 15:20 race at Ripon. Winless this season, the six-year-old is another that has been slipping down the weights and is now only 3lbs higher than his last winning mark, so if he can produce his best form on Thursday then has to be respected.
One hour later the Edward Bethell-trained Nigwa will line up in the 16:20 race aiming to land the spoils at 13/8 and that raider is another horse that has been napped three times and the likes of Garry Owen and Jim Delahunt fancy the Bethell hotpot to score. The daughter of Sea The Stars was second last time out and with a course and distance win to her name she has to be regarded the one to beat in another intriguing event.
We are set for a fabulous couple of days of top quality Classic action at Epsom with The Oaks and The Derby set to attract the premier middle-distance performers and punters will be looking to grab a winner on Thursday to build the confidence up and Lee Sobot of The Yorkshire Evening Post is one of those tipsters in excellent form as he bids for a third winning nap on the bounce. Sobot heads to Yarmouth's afternoon Flat meeting for the best bet of the day and has napped the 10/11 shot Ghara, who runs in the 15:30 race. The John & Thady Gosden-trained raider was last seen finishing fourth at Lingfield, but the daughter of Frankel should continue to improve and looks to have the potential to outclass her rivals today.
Farringdon of the Morning Star sits in second spot in the naps table and heads to Roscommon for the best bet of the day and is napping the Ger Lyons-trained Star Kissed for the 16:35 race. Available at 2/1, at the time of writing, Star Kissed was a winner at Bellewstown two starts ago, but failed to follow up next time out when fifth at the Curragh, but running off the same mark of 79 today she could land a significant blow again and record a second victory.
Luke Tucker of the Cambridge Evening News is third in the naps table and heads to Lingfield Park for the nap of the day and has napped the 9/4 shot Another Thought in the 14:42 race, while the fourth placed tipster from The Guardian is another siding with the abovementioned Hurstwood on another busy day's racing in the UK & Ireland.
