Horse Racing Tips: Equal and Bruer tipped for glory at Salisbury
There's a bumper day's racing in the UK & Ireland on Thursday with seven meetings taking place and the action gets under way at Clonmel at 13:15, while there's alternative afternoon racing at Salisbury, Bellewstown, Warwick and Lingfield Park. Two evening fixtures will conclude Thursday's action with the racing taking place at Chelmsford and Wolverhampton and we preview all the action here and pick out some of the most eye-catching bets from the day from our host of racing tipsters...
There's a hugely competitive betting heat at Salisbury at 16:19 and the 6f contest has caught the eye of our tipsters with two horses, in particular, proving extremely popular and they are Beyond Equal and Temple Bruer. The former has been napped by three tipsters including Rory Delargy from the Irish Field, who sits eighth in the naps table, and he is backing the seven-year-old Stuart Kittow-trained charge to deliver the goods at 9/1 and being a course and distance winner he has to be respected.
The 9/2 chance Temple Bruer is more fancied with the bookmakers and is another to attract three naps from our racing writers and one of those is Garry Owen from the Daily Record, who sits second in the naps table. Owen fancies Temple Bruer to strike for a third race on the spin as wins at Doncaster and Newcastle have seen the four-year-old head into this race in red-hot form.
Expert Eye from On The Nose currently sits at the top of the naps table with a profit of £48.46 and he heads to Chelmsford's all-weather evening card for his best bet of the day in the 19:00 race, and the top tipster has napped the 9/2 chance Epic Express, who was last seen winning over course and distance and with a 5lb penalty today will be attempting to notch up back-to-back wins.
Lambourn of the Racing Post has been in scintillating tipping form this week and duly notched a third winning nap on the bounce yesterday and that tipster has soared into third position in the naps table with a profit of £23.73. The tipster is another that goes to Chelmsford this evening for the best bet of the day, and Lambourn has napped the Richard Hughes-trained Nelson Gay, who is a 7/4 favourite for the 20:00 contest.
The Scout from the Daily Express is looking to kick off the day on a winning note and has the first nap of the day which runs in the 13:36 at Warwick, and The Scout is backing the 3/1 chance Call Me Tara, who has won one and finished second twice in her last three starts, so she heads into the event in fine form and has to be a leading contender for glory.
Another early selection in the day that catches the eye is Appier, who is a 100/30 shot for the 13:44 at Lingfield Park and is the best bet of RP Ratings. The Sean Woods-trained three-year-old son of Holy Roman Emperor was last seen winning at Newcastle off a mark of 73 and the gelding will look to deliver once again on the track, but off a 4lb higher mark will face a sterner test on an action-packed day's racing.
