Horse Racing Tips: Leith tipped to bag hat-trick at Carlisle
We have a relatively quiet day's racing in the UK with only four meetings taking place and there's a brace of fixtures this afternoon and a brace this evening. It all kicks off at Lingfield Park at 13:30, while the alternative racing this afternoon comes from Nottingham. This evening's racing starts at Chelmsford City at 16:45, while the action concludes at Carlisle, with their seven-race card beginning at 17:10 and going right through until 20:35. We preview all the action here and pick out some of the most eye-catching naps from a host of racing writers...
Jim Goldie's Water Of Leith has been in sparkling form of late racking up a brace of victories and the progressive four-year-old will bid for the hat-trick this evening when he lines up in the 18:50 at Carlisle. Proving extremely popular with our racing tipsters, a whopping seven tipsters - including the likes of Newsboy from the Daily Mirror and Ben Morgan from Racing Ahead - have napped the Goldie charge, who is currently a red-hot 5/4 favourite to land the hat-trick.
Karl Burke's Korker is another well fancied contender on Tuesday and the 10/11 favourite has been napped by four tipsters for the 15:50 at Nottingham. Last seen finishing third in Listed company at York, Korker will line up in a conditions event this afternoon, and having competed in a competitive handicap at Royal Ascot two starts today's assignment could be a lot easier, and he should be tough to beat.
Richard Fahey and Oisin Orr have built up a promising relationship in recent times and the pair will look to hit the back of the net at Carlisle this evening with Monsieur Kodi, who is a 9/4 chance for the 18:15 contest. Napped by three tipsters including Garry Owen from the Daily Record, who sits second in the naps table, Monsieur Kodi was a course and distance winner back in June, and was victorious last time out, so heads into the event as a major player in what is another decent betting heat for punters to enjoy on Tuesday evening.
Naps table leader Expert Eye is miles clear at the top of the standings with a fine profit of £47.61 and the red-hot tipster heads to Nottingham for the best bet of the day, and Expert Eye has napped the Roger Teal-trained Gert Lush, who is 100/30 for the 17:00 event. Last seen finishing third at Newbury in a competitive handicap contest, Gert Lush will line up off the same mark of 61 and having won off 66 earlier in his career then the Teal charge has to be hugely respected.
Jeffrey Ross of the Western Morning News heads to Nottingham for his best bet of the day and he has napped the 3/1 chance Fox Island in the 14:45 race, as the once-raced filly aims to build on a promising debut, where she finished fourth at Leicester for Richard Hannon.
Other eye-catching naps on Tuesday include Sea Tsarina, who is a 6/4 favourite for the 14:30 at Lingfield Park and is the selection of Whistler from the Sunday Telegraph, while the biggest priced nap of the entire day runs in the 17:10 at Carlisle. The Nicky Richards-trained Wilhelm Vonvester is currently a 25/1 outsider to claim victory in that 17:10 event, but the Sunday Express tipster fancies the eight-year-old to grab a shock win.
