@RoadCheltenham Aintree Thoughts Are Here
After guiding us through all four days at the 2024 Cheltenham Festival, @RoadCheltenham is back for more this Aintree with his through the card thoughts. Check out who he will be keeping an eye on at Aintree tomorrow, as well as his underdog fancy in the first below...
Naps Leaders And Most Popular Nap
There is just one horse today that has garnered three Nap votes, coming in the final race of the day the 20:30 at Kempton. Three experts believe DEVIZES is the best bet across Wednesday's action, and Pat Phelan's charge could indeed be ready to make a splash in this kind of grade. He is a C&D winner and is 5lbs below his last winning mark, so must be well weighted and has been running well of late without success.
In the battle for the Naps competition title, West Country still holds a good lead with the finish line in sight and they head to Market Rasen in the 13:57 for their best bet of the day in CARRIGMOORNA ROWAN. Harry Fry's runner will have Jonathan Burke in the plate and is already one of the day's strongest market movers, as he is the benchmark in here despite a poor run last time out.
On The Nose remain in second place and are taking on the day's most popular Nap with the co-favourite at the time of writing, NIVELLE'S MAGIC for Simon Earle. He paid for a poor draw last time out but still ran well for fourth and this time the draw has been kinder, so he must be respected. Matt Polley has taken third place from Brian Flanagan and will look to head further up the podium with his best bet DEMBE in the 15:52 at Lingfield. Simon Pearce's charge is another who has been strong in the market today, and it is clear to see why considering the drop back in trip should massively help his chances at a track he has won at in the past.
- West Country - Carrigmoorna Rowan - 13:57 Market Rasen - P&L: £13.65
- On The Nose - NIvelle's Magic - 20:30 Kempton - P&L: £4.21
- Matt Polley - Dembe - 15:52 Lingfield - P&L: £3.29
How About Stat?
Paul O'Brien - the stable jockey of Harry Derham - is in flying form over the last fortnight with a 50% strike-rate. He heads to Market Rasen for two rides today hoping to enhance his form before Aintree...

Racing News Round-Up
- Mouth-watering clashes aplenty on Day One at Aintree - Ginnys Destiny takes on Grey Dawning to kick things off before Sir Gino attempts to gain vengeance for missing Cheltenham. Then we see Shishkin take on Gerri Colombe in Liverpool, before more awesome racing. We can't wait!
- Mark Walsh chooses Limerick Lace - 2024 Mares' Chase winner Limerick Lace saw a plunge on her Grand National odds yesterday as Mark Walsh, JP's retained rider, elected to ride her over a host of other live chances. Will the seven year old mare defy history?
- Grand National Course officially heavy - The course on which the Grand National is set to be run at Aintree is officially heavy after relentless rain in the North West. Thursday's forecast once again looks bleak, but there is hope Friday and Saturday will be drying days and the race will be run on soft.
