Horse Racing Tips: Richard aims to Master Catterick rivals
There are seven horse racing fixtures across the UK & Ireland on Wednesday and it all kicks off at Brighton at 13:00, while there's alternative afternoon racing at Catterick, Uttoxeter and Downpatrick. Killarney will start the evening racing at 17:00, while on British shores there will be evening Flat action from Lingfield Park and Yarmouth. We preview all today's action here and pick out some of the best bets of the day picked out by some of the leading racing writers...
Ann Duffield's Master Richard was an impressive winner at York last time out, as the three-year-old scored by over three lengths, and the son of Aclaim will attempt to follow that up on Wednesday afternoon by claiming victory in the 14:55 race at Catterick. He lines up here without a penalty, so a mark of 75 looks attractive, and it's no shock to see him installed as the Evens favourite, and he has proven the most popular selection in our naps table. Four tipsters including the likes of Newsboy from the Daily Mirror and Templegate from The Sun have napped the Duffield charge, who looks a tough nut to crack.
However, he could have a notable rival in the shape of Manigordo, who lines up here for Tim Easterby and is currently a 100/30 chance. The five-year-old has been slipping down the handicap of late as he struggles to get his head in front, but three tipsters including Paul Kealy from The Weekender have napped the second favourite, who will have his work cut out to beat Master Richard. It's proven a popular race with our tipsters as a staggering three tipsters including Fortunatus from the Sheffield Star have napped the 33/1 outsider Muntadab, who is another bidding for glory in the 14:55 race.
The Spotlight tip of the day also comes from Catterick and runs in the 16:05 race, and the selection is the 2/1 shot Natural Path, who lines up for Michael Bell, and that raider was last seen finishing fifth at Chelmsford City, so will need to improve on that effort to go close here.
Expert Eye from On The Nose spearheads the naps table with a profit of £48.05 and that high-flying tipster heads to Yarmouth's evening Flat meeting for the best bet of the day, and Expert Eye has put up the 2/1 chance Meganseighteen in the 20:50 contest. Melissa Jones from the Mirror Online, who sits in second spot on £36.06 and tipped a winner yesterday, also heads to Yarmouth and is tipping up the 16/1 outsider Vitesse Du Son in the 20:20, and if that one can prevail then Jones will fancy her chances of soaring to the top of the table.
The form tipster heading into Wednesday's racing is The Scout from the Daily Express, who has racked up back-to-back winning naps, and that tipster is tipping up the 10/11 Sir Michael Stoute-trained Kodiac Sign, who could prove to be a cut above his rivals.
Lawrence Taylor from At The Races heads to Brighton's afternoon card and that tipster has napped the 5/1 shot Pimlico, who runs in the 15:55 contest. The three-year-old was a shock 66/1 winner at Windsor last time out, and that charge will aim to show that wasn't a shock in today's Flat contest.
