Naps Table Leaders
A couple of horses today have three votes as the best bet, with a further two having more than three. Of the duo selected by a trio of experts, CORBETTS CROSS is the most intriguing potential winner with Cheltenham on the horizon, but he is no betting proposition today at 1/2 in the 14:30 at Fairyhouse. The Emmet Mullins trained runner should complete the job with minimal fuss before heading for the Brown Advisory or National Hunt Chase. TOWNHILL is the other horse backed by three experts, and runs in the Sedgefield closing race (16:40) for Tom Lacey.
At 18:00 at Kempton, Oisin Murphy rides for Andrew Balding and is on board the favourite who has been picked as the best bet by four expert judges. The horse in question is LESSAY, who won over course and distance on debut before finding just one too strong when a 5/6 favourite here last time out. He faces his conqueror Newsreader again but it seems the consensus is Lessay can reverse form and have more upside. The most popular Nap of the day by far is BONTTAY for Fergal O'Brien and Paddy Brennan, who runs in the 15:20 at Ludlow and has been selected as the best bet of the day by a huge six judges!
This horse has a phenomenal strike-rate and one suspects it would be even better if she'd stayed upright last time out at Cheltenham, when travelling like the winner as evens favourite before tipping up late on. That fall shouldn't have left too much of a mark and she looks to have an excellent chance of making things right here in mares company once more. Second in the Naps standings West Country leads the sextet who fancy her as the best chance of the day and her price of 10/11 at the time of writing looks juicy.
Follow The Leaders
They missed out on three winners in a row yesterday when Good Lord was just denied, but Spotlight are still miles clear atop the Naps table with a P&L figure of £24.55, a full £15.77 clear of their nearest rival. Today's pick looks to have an outstanding chance of getting Spotlight back on the winning thread, with SYMBOL OF LIGHT in the 19:00 at Kempton looking to have all the tools needed to win. This horse is a former Charlie Appleby inmate but now resides with Julie Camacho and one suspects if he runs to the same level he showed when a close second last time out at Newcastle, he should have enough to beat this field.
West Country remain in second place in the standings and they are siding with the most popular Nap of the day in the Ludlow 15:20. BONTTAY, Fergal O'Brien's mare who is looking to bounce back from a fall last time out when looking a major threat at Cheltenham. If anything this race looks an easier target and if she can get back to her usual assured jumping self then she should go close. Finally, The Irish Sun is making his Nap in the Fairyhouse closing race today (16:30) and is with CHOSEN DIAMOND for JJ Slevin and Ed Cawley. This horse looked to be coming with a huge challenge when tipping up in the closing stages of a Navan handicap hurdle last time out and, providing that fall 18 days has left him no worse for wear, he looks well weighted to perhaps make his winning run more telling here.
- Spotlight - Symbol Of Light - 19:00 Kempton - P&L: £24.55
- West Country - Bonttay - 15:20 Ludlow - P&L: £8.78
- The Irish Sun - Chosen Diamond - 16:30 Fairyhouse - P&L: £4.98
Stats The Way We Like It!
Gary Moore boasts a fantastic 50% strike-rate at Ludlow this season, with four winners from eight runners at the track. Today he sends a couple of fancied runners, priced at 6/4 and 5/2 respectively. Will Moore bang in a double?

Racing News Round-Up
- Grand National Start Time Moved - Just a few years after the race was moved to 5:15pm, the Grand National will now be run at the slightly earlier time of 4:00pm. It is hoped this move will enhance horse safety in the iconic Aintree showpiece.
- Latest Aintree Scratchings Announced - Sticking with the Grand National, yesterday the latest batch of scratchings and horses left in were confirmed. CORACH RAMBLER heads 94 entries at Lucinda Russell's ten year old hunts back to back Aintree wins.
- Reach For The Moon Set For Hurdles Bow - Arguably the most interesting runner on Wednesday comes in the shape of former Derby antepost favourite REACH FOR THE MOON on hurdles debut for Jamie Snowden. Check out his first hurdling experience at 14:10 at Sedgefield, with the horse still running in the royal colours.
