Irish Derby Tips: Bank of Tuesday to give O'Brien record winner at the Curragh
Just the eight runners are set to go to post in the Irish Derby at the Curragh races on Saturday just outside of Dublin.
Aidan O'Brien will be going in search of his 15th win in the race, already a record holder and he holds the key with his Oaks heroine Tuesday the 6/4 favourite.
The filly won the Oaks in impressive fashion and she'll get a three pounds sex allowance on Saturday. She's yet to win at the Curragh beaten on her only appearance as a juvenile last season and again a beaten favourite in the Irish Guineas. She's obviously top class though, third in the 1000 Guineas the step up to a mile and a half has really helped her and she sets the benchmark.
Second in the betting and the main competition to Tuesday comes in the shape of Westover who makes the trip from Newmarket.
The Frankel colt was third place in the Epsom Derby sent off a big price and he's officially rated a pound inferior to his market rival on Saturday as Beckett looks to make it back-to-back English trained winners of the race after Charlie Appleby won with Hurricane Lane for Godolphin 12 months ago.
There's a gap in the betting to the likes of Hannibal Barca, Lionel and Piz Badile.
Hanibal Barca is the entry of Joseph O'Brien who saddled the winner in 2018 with Latrobe.
The 10/1 chance has won two of his four starts, winning a Group 3 here at the Curragh in his only start this season. On ratings he has some to find here but he's unexposed.

Another English Raider in the shape of Lionel for trainer David Menuisier is also a 10/1 chance.
Only three runs he's pretty unexposed, winning a Listed contest at Goodwood earlier this season.
Piz Badile is the entry of trainer Donnacha O'Brien who won this race as a jockey in 2018 aboard Latrobe.
The 12/1 chance won the Group 3 Ballysax Stakes at Leopardstown at the start of the season before finishing down the field in the Epsom Derby.
Completing the line up are the three outsiders French Claim trained by Paddy Twomey, Jim Bolger's Boundless Ocean and Glory Daze trained by Andy Oliver.
It's at the top of the market though where our selection of TUESDAY is the selection. The class horse in the race she also has the three pound weight allowance and can give the genius Aidan O'Brien his 15th Irish Derby winner.
