The Weekend Wager: Raceolly's tips at Musselburgh, Leopardstown and Sandown

Our resident tipster Raceolly is back for another edition of The Weekend Wager, and he turns his attentions to three meetings for his best bets. Taking in three countries this weekend, he picks out selections from Musselburgh, Sandown and Leopardstown, and fancies four each-way selections during the afternoon...
14:05 Musselburgh - bet365 Auld Yin Conditional Jockeys' Veterans' Handicap Chase
BOYS ON TOUR might be a few pounds out of the handicap here, but claimer Patrick Wadge insures he’s running off 2lbs lower than his mark of 98, the lowest mark he’s had since winning at Perth in 2018 off 97. He won off a mark of 115 last year and some headgear in the form of cheekpieces is tried tomorrow, and if bringing a little improvement off this featherweight then he’s in with a serious shout. Beaten 11 lengths, nine lengths, 17 lengths and five lengths on his last four runs he's given a serious chance here at a huge price

14:45 Leopardstown - Paddy Power 'I'd Love A Can But Pints Are Cheaper' Handicap Hurdle
ENJOY D'ALLEN goes hurdling here tomorrow off a mark 30lbs lower than the chase mark he placed here off at Christmas time and was a very decent hurdler. His most recent hurdle start in November came after a 236 day break and over a trip shorter than he needs these days. He was caught for speed at a crucial time during that race and stayed on well late to only get beat nine lengths. Looks to be reverting to hurdles to protect a chase mark for a possible attempt at a Grand National and the fact that he is now ridiculously well handicapped over them. It’s that time of year where you have to look for horses that wouldn’t mind winning races like this and he falls in that category at a decent double figure price.

14:55 Sandown - Virgin Bet Heroes Handicap Hurdle
This is a very tricky race with cases to be made for a fair few at big prices. The Cheltenham Festival handicaps will be on the mind of a few and ASK DILLON will likely be one of them. He ran a huge race in the Pertemps last season when beaten seven lengths and has shown good form there again this season when 3rd finishing in front of Sporting John there in December. He finished 2nd in this race in 2020 off 1lb lower (claimer here puts him 6lbs below that mark) and tries blinkers here to eek out a bit more. Jockey Peter Kavanagh has a 33% win rate for the yard (two winners from six rides).

15:50 Leopardstown - Paddy Power 'I'm Never Going Back To The Office' Handicap Chase
R'EVELYN PLEASURE has placed in valuable handicaps many times and won a good race at Punchestown around Christmas 2020. He has a good record at the track including when 4th here off 2lb higher in December with that run coming after a excellent 2nd over hurdles on seasonal debut off the back of a 180 day break. He would have been a lot closer last time when making a horrendous mistake three out, but he kept on well after to go down by seven lengths in the end. A claimer returns here putting him 5lbs lower than the last course run and 8lbs below his last run, both that were packed with promise. The presence of Exit Poll and A Wave Of The Sea here ensures he runs off a featherweight of 10st 3lbs, and on his last course run he carried 11st 10lbs around here when caught for second at the death.
