ITV Racing Tips: Check out the best bets for the Sunday Series at Sandown
We are treated to the latest instalment of the Sunday Series at Sandown Park today and it all takes place in front of the ITV racing cameras from 15:42. We preview all the action at the Esher track here and pick out some of the best bets from our host of racing tipsters...
Sir Michael Stoute's Ikhtiraaq has notched up wins at Yarmouth and Pontefract in recent months, and the Freemason Lodge inmate will attempt to make it three wins on the bounce on Sunday when he lines up in the 18:12 at Sandown Park. This Invincible Spirit gelding has proven extremely popular with our tipsters as a whopping five of them, including the likes of Mercury of the Daily Post and Templegate from The Sun have napped the three-year-old for today's 1m contest.
The five-year-old mare Don't Tell Claire will be one of those looking to halt the Stoute charge in today's event and the 20/1 outsider has been napped by both Melissa Jones from The Mirror Online and Matt Polley from the Ipswich Star, while Whistler from the Sunday Telegraph has sided with the 10/1 shot Laguna Veneta in what is one of the most intriguing races on the card.
Naps table leader Expert Eye notched up a winning selection on Saturday and will attempt to make it back-to-back winners on Sunday, as the tipster, who has a profit of £43.36, heads to the 17:12 contest for the best bet of the day. Expert Eye has selected the 6/1 chance Aqwaam in that event and the Ian Williams-trained raider was last seen winning at Galway. Garry Owen from the Daily Record is in hot pursuit of Expert Eye, and sits in second place in the table, and that tipster has also put up a best bet in the 17:12 race, and Owen has napped the 8/1 chance Five Zeros.
Sunday's racing at Sandown gets under way at 15:42 and Newsboy of the Daily Mirror will look to try and kick the day off on a winning note and has napped the 9/4 chance Miss Attitude in the opener, while in the same event Jeffrey Ross from the Western Morning News has napped the 13/2 shot One More For Luck, who could be a leading player in a decent curtain-raiser.
There's a hugely competitive sprint handicap event at 16:12 and Mark Loughnane's Barbill is a whopping 33/1 chance for the 5f 10y contest, and that raider is the best bet of Farringdon of the Morning Star, who is looking to soar up the naps table with a huge priced winner. However, taking on Barbill will be the likes of 9/1 chance Primo's Comet, who is the best bet of the Guardian tipster and 15/2 chance Devils Angel, who is the selection of Alex Hammond from Sky Sports Racing.
For those punters looking for some more big-priced selections then could side with the Richard Hannon-trained Oh Herberts Reign, who is another 33/1 rag for the 16:12 event and is the best bet of Andrew Bladen of the Wolverhampton Express & Star and the Ian Williams-trained Typical Woman, who is 20/1 for the 17:12 contest and is the nap of the day for Ben Morgan from Racing Ahead.
