14:30 Royal Ascot - Chesham Stakes
Aidan O'Brien is the most successful trainer in the history of the Chesham Stakes with six wins in the Saturday curtain-raiser and the Ballydoyle maestro will saddle the hot favourite Pearls And Rubies, who was a narrow winner at Navan and is a horse that is sure to improve on that effort and holds a Group 1 entry later in the season. The likes of stablemate Content and Richard Hannon's La Guarida are players, but there could be some each-way value further down the list of runners and the one that catches the eye is Richard Fahey's MATNOOKH, who is available at big odds.
Very slowly away on debut at Windsor, the Sea The Stars colt only really began to get the hang of it in the closing stages as for the first half of the race he found himself off the pace and being scrubbed along by William Buick. However, he quickened eye-catchingly well in the closing stages of that contest and he picked up for Buick's urgings to finish third. He will need to improve immeasurably here to land a blow in what is a much tougher contest and he must certainly break much better, but the way he picked up in the final furlong suggested a step up to seven furlongs should see him improve and at huge odds and with some firms paying four places he could prove to be the each-way play in the Saturday opener.

15:05 Royal Ascot - Jersey Stakes
John Gosden last trained the winner of the Jersey Stakes back in 2000 when Observatory stormed to glory and now training alongside his son Thady he will look to claim more success in the 7f Group 3 and he will saddle the hot favourite COVEY, who has shaped like he could be a real classy colt. The son of Frankel has racked up a hat-trick of wins at Newmarket, Newcastle and Haydock and it was his last success at Haydock, where he scooted to a three-and-a-quarter length win off a mark of 90 that suggested that he could easily be a leading player in this event. Quickening up smartly that day he will face some notable improvers in this event, but he's well fancied to land the four-timer and looks tough to beat.
Second in the Middle Park Stakes last season, The Antarctic could prove to be the biggest danger to the jolly and was last seen winning a Group 3 at Naas for Aidan O'Brien and is the proven class act in the race, while the likes of the exciting, unbeaten Enfjaar and last year's shock Chesham Stakes winner add more depth to the race.

15:40 Royal Ascot - Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes
There's a hugely competitive renewal of the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes at 15:40 and John Quinn's Highfield Princess will be attempting to build on a fine second place in the King's Stand Stakes on day one of Royal Ascot, but the former Nunthorpe Stakes heroine could be better over five furlongs, so the step up to six here could see her struggle.
Australian speedster ARTORIUS is a prominent figure in the betting and was an excellent third in this event 12 months ago and if he can build on that then looks the one they all have to beat. Last seen on European shores finishing sixth behind Highfield Princess in the Prix Maurice De Gheest, connections opted to avoid Tuesday's King's Stand and wait for this and he was staying on well at the finish in this event 12 months ago and can go two better. Plenty have clouds hanging over them with the likes of Kinross (needs it softer), Rohaan (dual Wokingham winner stepping up to Group 1) and Sacred (better at 7f) all looking to face a tough test, while Wellington is interesting, but Artorious could just have a little too much class for a field lacking notable depth.

16:20 Royal Ascot - Hardwicke Stakes
A fascinating renewal of the Group 2 Hardwicke Stakes will see the Owen Burrows-trained Hukum do battle with the John & Thady Gosden-trained Free Wind and that pair dominate the head of the market. The former was last seen toppling former Derby hero Desert Crown in the Brigadier Gerard Stakes, while Free Wind beat Wednesday Royal Ascot winner Rogue Millennium in the Middleton Stakes at York. Both may just fall below top class, but are likely to fight it out for victory, however, are short enough in the market.
If the dead-eight remain in the line-up then there could be some value in the each-way market and the outsider of the field GRAND ALLIANCE could easily sneak into the frame. Runner-up to Changingoftheguard in the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot last season, that pair will do battle again here, but it's Grand Alliance who lines up on the back of a win in the Group 3 John Porter and a return to Ascot could see him improve and at 33/1 he is worth taking a chance on.in similar conditions to last year.

17:00 Royal Ascot - Wokingham Stakes
Hugo Palmer's FLAMING RIB was a hugely progressive sprinter as a three-year-old and he was a fine runner-up in the Commonwealth Cup last season, where he was no match for Perfect Power, but he's gone off the boil in recent times and will drop back to handicap company for the ultra-competitive Wokingham Stakes, which is a real minefield for punters.
He will have the burden of top weight in this 6f sprint, so it's a tough ask, but Rohaan showed last year when winning it off 9st 12lbs that the cream can rise to the top and if Flaming Rib can recapture some old form then off a mark of 110 he has to be respected. The likes of the hat-trick-seeking Orazio, Probe and Khanjar are three that have to be respected at the top of the betting, while King's Lynn is another classy performer dropping down to handicap company, but Flaming Rib could be the way to go.

17:35 Royal Ascot - Golden Gates Stakes
An impressive winner at Navan last time out, Aidan O'Brien's Canute will have to defy an 11lbs rise in the handicap if he is to claim glory in the Golden Gates Stakes, which is the penultimate race on Saturday's day 5 card at Royal Ascot, but the Ballydoyle raider could be capable of the significant improvement required to land this prize and rightly heads the betting.
One that could outrun his odds is the William Haggas-trained LAAFI, who failed to land a blow on his reappearance, but that was in the Group 3 Lingfield Derby Trial and that form has been well and truly franked with Waipiro landing Royal Ascot success earlier in the week. The son of Cloth Of Stars will need to show he can act on the quicker going here, as his sole win came in the soft at Nottingham, but it's fascinating the Haggas team drop him down to the handicap sphere here and off a mark of 97 he could go very close at double-figured odds.

18:10 Royal Ascot - Queen Alexandra Stakes
A winner of this race in 2021 and 2022, Stratum will look to land a phenomenal hat-trick of wins in the Royal Ascot curtain-closer and the Willie Mullins-trained ten-year-old has to set the standard here as he lines up off a 1lb lower mark here than last year's contest. He's sure to run a huge race, but in the twilight of his career he's awfully short in the betting and makes no punting appeal whatsoever.
In what is an extremely tough puzzle for punters, with several having stamina issues, one that could outrun his 20/1 odds is Royal Ascot regular THE GRAND VISIR, who has placed on two occasions in this event for Ian Williams and looks capable of making the frame again. He was a decent eighth in the Ascot Stakes earlier in the week, but the step up in trip should bring on improvement. A winner of the Ascot Stakes back in 2019, the nine-year-old is very much in the twilight of his career, but he will be in receipt of 3lbs from Stratum this time around and if Ryan Moore can get him prominent through the first half of the race then his stamina could come to the fore late on.
