Today's Horse Racing Tips: Five to play on Saturday

Yesterday’s selection was a non-runner following heavy rain at Bath.
There are five bets for today’s racing at Haydock and York.
Haydock Tips
13:55 – 7f Casumo Horse Racing And Sports Betting Handicap (Class 3)
The top weight, SUNSET BREEZE (1 point win bet at 6/1), has caught my eye, and I fancy him to improve significantly from his reappearance run in the Victoria Cup at Ascot last time out. He was only beaten by 3.75-lengths that day and he now looks set to build on the progress he made last season when he recorded impressive form figures of 111622. With form on soft ground, conditions shouldn’t be a problem and he can take advantage of a drop in class under regular jockey Luke Morris.
At a bigger price, I am also taking a chance on ARAFI (0.5 point win bet at 20/1), who returns to turf following a series of recent good runs on the All Weather. She is unexposed in this sphere and was a cosy winner under today’s jockey Sean Levey on good to soft ground at Salisbury last August.
14:25 – 2m Download The Casumo App Today Handicap (Class 2)
POSTILEO (1 point win bet at 7/2) cost 500,000gns as a yearling and has made a promising start to his career with one win and four placed efforts from his six starts to date. Having been well beaten on his racecourse debut, he has improved with each run since and will be fully tuned up for this following two runner up spots already this season. The latest of those came at Chester, where he finished strongly having suffered some trouble at the start of the race. That caused him to get too far back and he couldn’t make up the ground quick enough in the straight. The winner that day (Green Book) reopposes here but I fancy my selection to reverse the form now back on a more conventional track.
15:35 – 6f Casumo Bet10Get10 Sandy Lane Stakes (Group 2)
DRAGON SYMBOL (1 point win bet at 7/2) arrives here as a hugely exciting sprinter having won all four starts to date in commanding style. Already as short as 12/1 for the King’s Stand Stakes and 10/1 for the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot, those odds will be significantly shorter with another good performance here. Obviously, this will be by far his biggest test to date and he also has slower ground to overcome. Connections seem hopeful that he will handle conditions and if he does, he will be very tough to beat. The biggest dangers are Isabella Giles and Umm Kulthum.

PENDLETON (NAP – 1 point win bet at 9/2) missed out by the narrowest of margins when collared on the line at Ascot 15 days ago. That marked his return from a mammoth 560-day absence, but he travelled really well and lost nothing in defeat. This son of Garswood was also in fine form prior to his break. His 2019 campaign saw him beat Came From The Dark over five furlongs at Ascot and he also went close in other good races over sprint trips (including the Ayr Bronze Cup). Testing ground will suit him, he was placed on his only previous visit to Haydock and Callum Rodriguez continues in the saddle. Mulzim and Mondammej can chase home the selection.
