Jamie and Gary Moore have a really impressive strike rate with their runners at Lingfield and can land another winner at the course courtesy of HUDSON DE GRUGY (NAP – 1 point win bet at 8/1), who is as short as 16/1 for next month’s Grade 3 Betfair Hurdle. The Moore stable is in sparkling form having sent out five winners and two seconds from 13 runners in the last two days and have a record of 11-36 in the past fortnight. This improving five-year-old relished the heavy ground to win over this course and distance last time out. He responded really well for pressure that day and was strong at the finish to hold off the well fancied favourite. That win was his second of the season with his only defeat coming in a Sandown Listed race at the start of December. The handicapper has only raised him 3lbs for his latest success, and with four wins from just seven starts over hurdles, this consistent performer looks to have been found another good opportunity. The Paul Nicholls-trained Hacker Des Places is feared most ahead of the top weight Gowel Road. The Irish challengers are also sure to go well.
