A hugely consistent staying chaser for Alan King, Dingo Dollar often found a few too good for him when housed at Barbury Castle, but fifth placed finishes in both the Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury and Sky Bet Chase at Doncaster showed he was capable of running big races in valuable races.

Switched from King's stables to Sandy Thomson's yard following a disappointing effort in the Grand Sefton at Aintree over the National fences at the end of the 2020 campaign, Dingo Dollar immediately kicked off his time with Thomson with a win, as he stormed to a 10-length success at Newcastle in March 2021.

Riding the crest of a wave, Dingo Dollar lined up for the Scottish Grand National at Ayr a month later, and he ran an absolute stormer, as he was just denied by Lucinda Russell's Mighty Thunder in a thrilling finish to the showpiece event north of the border.

Three starts this season has yet to see him get his head in front, and having started the campaign off with a fifth placed finish at Kelso, he then went on to finish third in the Rehearsal Chase at Newcastle. Last seen competing in the Listed Premier Chase at Kelso, Dingo Dollar yet again had to settle for the minor honours as he was fifth, but the handicapper keeps failing to drop him too much, and he will line up off a mark of 148 in the Grand National.

Second in the Scottish version of 145, Dingo Dollar will be up against here in arguably a tougher race, but he is one that will relish the trip of a Grand National, so can't be completely discounted.
