Horse Racing Tips: Ayr Bronze Cup the feature race on Friday
Having advised a 5/2 winner in Thursday's column we turn our attentions to Friday's action and there's some hugely competitive action at Ayr with the Ayr Bronze Cup the feature race at 15:45, while there's alternative racing from Newbury, Newton Abbot, Downpatrick, Kempton and Dundalk. We take a look at all the action here and pick out some of the most eye-catching naps from our army of racing tipsters...
A bumper field of 25 runners will do battle in the Ayr Bronze Cup at 15:45 and the bookmakers go 13/2 the field for what is a fascinating betting heat to get stuck into, and it's no surprise to see a host of tipsters opting to pick out their best bet from the race. Proving most popular with our tipsters are three horses that have been napped by three tipsters. The current race favourite Music Society will line up for Tim Easterby and that 13/2 chance has been napped by the likes of Glendale from The Scotsman and Postdata from the Racing Post, while Keith Dalgleish's Beltane is a 12/1 shot and has been napped by a triumvirate of writers including Melissa Jones from the Mirror Online.
The final horse to be napped three times is another Easterby-trained raider in the shape of 14/1 chance Danzan, who is the best bet of Robin Goodfellow from the Daily Mail, while current naps table leader Garry Owen from the Daily Record is backing the 10/1 chance Grantley Hall, who was a winner last time out, and lines up for Mick Easterby.
Veering away from that hugely exciting renewal of the Ayr Bronze Cup, one horse that has been napped five times is the Roger Varian-trained Bolt Action, who is a 13/8 shot for the 14:35 event, and that raider will be a leading player to claim Listed glory in the Rosebery Stakes. The fillies' & mares' Listed event at 15:10 will see more classy performers line up and the in-form Gale Force Maya, who was a winner last time out and lines up for Michael Dods on Friday afternoon, is a warm order with the bookmakers and Newsboy from the Daily Mirror is one of four tipsters napping that charge today.
Alex Hammond from Sky Sports Racing is the real form tipster at the moment as she has notched up back-to-back winners over the last couple of days and she heads to Newbury's Flat card for her best bet of the day. Hammond has napped the Andrew Balding-trained Shine So Bright, who has won his last two at Newmarket, and will attempt to follow that up in Listed company today in the 16:03 race. Available at 9/2, at the time of writing, Shine So Bright will have a tough rival in the shape of Sacred, who is a 6/4 favourite for the race and is the best bet from Picksfromthepaddock.
Long-time naps table leader Expert Eye from On The Nose has fallen behind the abovementioned Garry Owen in the table and the tipster on a fine profit of £49.46 heads to Kempton's all-weather card this evening and is backing the 9/1 shot Classic Order in the 17:45, and that Ralph Beckett-trained charge will be looking to improve for a switch to the handicap sphere.
National Hunt racing will light up Newton Abbot this afternoon and Rory Delargy heads to the returning West Country track for his best bet of the day, and the fourth placed tipster has napped the 9/2 chance Charming Berry, who has to be a leading player in an intriguing bumper to end the card at 17:00.
