Horse Racing Tips: Destiny and Raasel the stand out selections at Goodwood
We swiftly move on to day four of the Punchestown Festival on Friday and Honeysuckle will be a red-hot odds-on favourite for the Punchestown Champion Hurdle later on today, but we veer away from that Grade 1 showpiece, and feature on some other eye-catching runners that have been tipped by some of the leading racing writers. We have delved through all six race meetings today and picked out some of the most notable naps picked on a busy Friday...
There's a hugely competitive renewal of the William Hill Pick Your Places Handicap at Goodwood at 14:40 this afternoon, and two of the leading contenders in the field have proven popular amongst the racing writers. Andrew Balding's Stone Of Destiny is a 7/2 chance for the event and the Michael Appleby-trained Raasel is available at 5/1 and both have been napped by four tipsters for this afternoon's 5f contest. The likes of Jason Heavey from The Star and Rob Wright from The Times have sided with Stone Of Destiny, while Dean Kilbryde from the East Anglian Daily Times and Chris Wright from The Liverpool Echo are two tipsters siding with Raasel.
Heading over to the Punchestown Festival, the Willie Mullins-trained State Man is a 5/4 favourite for the Grade 1 Alanna Homes Champion Novice Hurdle at 18:00 and the Closutton inmate has been napped by three racing writers for today's contest, while another runner on Friday attracting attention is Shine So Bright, who is a 9/4 shot for the 15:00 at Newmarket and is napped by three tipsters.
Over at Cheltenham's final fixture of the season, there's an extremely popular selection in the 17:15 contest at Prestbury Park, as the Evens favourite Famous Clermont has been tipped by 12 tipsters, with Shantou Flyer proving another popular choice as ten tipsters have tipped it for the 19:35 contest.
Naps table leader Expert Eye continued some excellent tipping form on Thursday as having bagged 11/1 and 3/1 winners earlier in the week, the red-hot tipster notched up a 13/2 winner yesterday and Expert Eye heads to Newmarket's 15:00 contest on Friday. Rod Millman's Able Kane is the selection of Expert Eye, who is hoping the 5/1 chance can build on a fourth-placed finish at Newmarket a couple of weeks ago, and the five-year-old has to be considered a leading player.
The most in-form tipster at the moment is Lambourn from the Racing Post, who has napped four winners on the spin, and that red-hot tipster heads to the 15:50 at Goodwood and has put up 11/1 shot Shobiz in that event, while Melissa Jones from the Mirror Online, who sits second in the naps table is going in search of a hat-trick of wins today, and she has picked out Kalabaloo in the 19:00 at Cheltenham.
